Here's what people deal with in the world of Lord Farquaad

This was the letter all the employees of Redskins Park got right before the danny got the team. And right before he fired them all

I don't want to overstate the importance of Sarge's 'reveal' here, as even those of us captured in our worst moments can learn and change. It's possible. But this doesn't reflect well on the owner of our beloved franchise. It calls into question things that matter to fans. Things with single word descriptors.

Character.

Trustworthiness.

Integrity.

Intention.

Purpose.

Motivation.

I'm trying to spin this letter, given what actually transpired after the letter was mailed out, in some 'more positive' light. And I'm struggling.

Vinny?

Perhaps we're all just confused. Those redskin employees must have 'read into things'? Been 'misled' by the media? Not had 'all the facts'?

Or could it be......Satan???????

OK, OK, I'm tired, its late, but I'll fill in a bit

As some of you know, my Mom worked for Mr Cooke for a number of years. That's about as specific as I'm gonna get. It was a great time. The Skins were on their decade long run. I was granted access to the practices and met a number of Redskins greats when I was home on leave from the Air Force.

We all know what happened next. Mr Jack passed on and to make a long story short, danny bought the team.

In the months before the NFL approved the sale, everyone was in limbo. Mr John had to ask the JKC foundation basically about every move both on and off the field.

A couple of days before Lord Farquaad bought the team, this fax came to Redskins Park. It was a relief to the people there because they were really hanging out in the wind with no idea what their futures held.

Then the day came danny got the team. He came into Redskins Park and the bloody purge began. He walked into the outer office of Mr Cookes old office and told the lady there "Get me a Coke".

No "Hi".

No "How ya doin'?"

Not even a "**** you"

"Get me a Coke"

He went into Mr Cookes old office and stayed about a half an hour

When he came out he told everyone in the office that they were through with the Skins and that they had until 5 o'clock to get their personal stuff and get out. If they couldn't get their stuff out by 5 pm, they could come back on Saturday between 11-12 and be escorted by security to get their stuff.

this ishow the careers of a large number of people ended at Redskins Park. These folks were tossed like yesterdays trash. Most had not even been looking for jobs because of this fax.

This how the danny treats people that are of no use to him, or can't make him look good.

This is why no one wants to come here, because of management practices like you see in this letter

I cannot really reply to this other than to say any reply I would make would shock the folks at 4chan/b with the depth and savagery of its venom.

It's been a bad day for Skins news, hasn't it bud?

I've been told that a lot of folks don't really know what a dick this guy is to people. They think the stories are just made up or what not.

Granted, this was from 10 years ago, but the guy hasn't changed a bit from what my sources tell me.

If you ain't a movie star, star player or some other kind of celeb, you ain't poo poo in danny land

What Serv said except mine is The Sopranos version.

What I can say that I think will make it past the profanity filters is a quote from Titanic. "You unbelievable bastard!!"

A few days ago someone over at ES (Buford IIRC) started a thread in which he said that Snyder had driven him about as close as he could get to actually hating someone. I understand how he feels except that I don't limit myself as he does. I have a very visceral hatred for people that treat others like that.

I like to eat at nice places

Years ago I saw the owner at a nice restaurant and got an autograph from him. Was brief, typical of "famous people" and getting their autograph. Nothing truly special

I wonder today, if I were to see him sitting at the Palm with one other dude, what I'd do.

Probably a whole lot of cursing, Probably never allowed back at the place again.

I heard Vinny on the radio this morning, and almost got into an accident when he made the announcement about Zorn. Then I realized just how much this guy, and his boss, have ****ed up the team. I yelled, and realized I can't stand the sound of either of them

That fax, and what happened after, no surprise at all

All I can hope and say is, "what goes around comes around." Danny will reap what he has sowed.

The sad part is how he has hurt innocent people, like Sarge's mom. His biggest mistake is mistreating the fans. We may not be stars, but we do (did) line his pockets.

Unfortunately, ths is pretty much how he has treated the fans as well, breaking his deal to with the city of Frostburg then charging for camp.

The list goes on and on

This is the type of person we have runing our team.

And he doesn't understand why the fans hate him?

He knows exactly why. He just doesn't care because he's dan snyder and we're just a bunch of peons

Between Boone's post about the bigwig and Sarge's copy of fax shows his attitude toward the fans and people in general. He wants the fans to love and worship him all the while he could care less about them.

I didn't know a great deal about who Snyder was until recently. Like this letter and story that Sarge is telling us (I wasn't as nearly Redskins obsessed at the time with college, moving and that the Redskins had a terminal case of Norvitis) it's not the first story I've heard and won't be the last I'm sure.

I had just thought that Snyder spent money (usually badly) and had little clue about running a football team, but meant well.

I feel terribly ill that I've defended him all these years from other posters and media attacks now that I've learned more about who he is and how he treats his employees (players and non-players).

No boss makes every employee happy and on occasion will have to can a few people but this was really bad (that's being a huge understatement).

unfortunately this is how big business is. one minute you're sitting pretty with a cushy job and the next you are packing your stuff up before 5PM.

Danny is a d-bag but this is just how big business goes.
Yeah, it is sometimes. But for a group of people that had been treated like family for years, it hit hard.

And the thing is, he did this to EVERYBODY, from the secretaries to the scouts to the trainers. All that institutional knowledge, in some cases 30 years worth, out the door. If I remember correctly, he fired Csserly first, but then realized he needed him for a few more weeks, so said "Wait a minute" and left him hanging for a couple of months before firing him again.

All because little danny was going to revolutionize the art of owning a football team.

Thing is, when he said "enhance" we thought he meant in a manner to get us back to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for us, danny was actualy talking about enhancing the size of his wallet

Oh, and to compare and contrast.

One day my Mom was driving home from work. The doctors never figured out what hapened, but she basically passed out at the wheel. We were fortunate that she kinda just glided off the road and came to a stop.

The next day, Mom called in sick. Mr Cooke called Mom early because she basically kept Mr Cookes life straight, so he was a little flumoxed when she wasn't around.

Mr Cooke asked her what was wrong, and she told him what happened. He said "I'll call you right back dear" and hung up

About ten minutes later, Mr Cooke called back. Mind you, Mom had been calling around trying to get in to see a neurologist, but when Mr Cooke said he was calling back, you didn't want him to hear a busy signal.

Anyway, he called back and told Mom, "Call this number. They're waiting to take care of you" and hung up. Mom called and it was the number to the top neurologist on the East coast. This guy had a waiting list a year and a half long. He picked the phone up personally and told Mom to come in the next day.

Like I said, they never could figure out what happened, but that doctor ran her through all kinds of tests and followed up with her for over two years

And Mr Cooke footed the bill.

Think you'd see that out of Lord Farquaad?

Dan Snyder is indeed a major league asshole. There is no justification for treating people the way he does. With that said-

If we were a successful, winning franchise would anyone really give a crap?

Maybe the way big business works is a reason why they have been so successful here the last few years.

To be honest Chris, IMHO probably not very many-some would be offended if the owner was a callous jerk, however it's been my experience that success causes people to become very forgiving.

I'm sure it wouldn't be getting as much scrutiny, but I submit that no organization that treats their people like crap can be sucsesful. And little danny probably set us back a few years right off the bat by getting rid of most of the trainers, the scouts and the people that knew folks around the league and knew how to get things done
