The 2026 Draft Thread

Yeah he does wonder if this hurts him in the draft. I haven’t really watched him at all, so hard to judge one game but this is rough.
If I’m him, I’m going back.

Oooof. That’s makes #7 pick a bit worse with most mocks assuming 2 QBs go 1 and 2. So hopefully that’s not the case.
Hey, at least we got a meaningless win to end the year against the Eagles JV where we fired our OC and Josh Johnson was our QB.

Hooray momentum.

I blame Siriani more for this than us. OTOH, I wanted us to start Hartman. I wonder if that was the final riff between Dan and Kliff? Maybe Kliff insisted on starting the 19 year vet?

He is going to need to take his time making that decision and getting a lot of feedback.

It is amazing how one late game has shut down all the momentum he has built up and probably reversed his dreams and plans

I don’t think it’s one game. I think this is kind of what many (myself included) were worried about with him. Hes not ready. And if he goes to the NFL and is asked to start on day one on a bad team it could absolutely ruin his career trajectory. And right now my prediction is that he’d be a Jet if last night didn’t happen (and maybe even if it does)

He can make good money in college, be successful and continue to improve his craft and be more prepared for the NFL and not be a Jet.

No brainer.

Watching this weeks game had me doubting Moore comes out (and if he does hurts his top 5 status) and Bains will not go top 10.

That makes our chance of a trade back options way less likely.

I think Bain is very reliant on a team that values a guy with line flexibility that can easily kick inside and play 3-technique, and a team that understands that while he can pass rush and will do well enough, he probably isn’t going to lead the league in sacks.

I’d actually use him on the edge in early downs and play him at 3-tech on passing downs and utilize a ton of stunts and blitzes.

I don’t know what direction we’re headed in for the first pick. A lot hangs on our DC hire.

I do see his value and usage similar to you. I however don't see him as a top 7 selection

We are still pending a DC hire, so my entire strategy is still in flux...

But right now I think I'd go after a back in FA AND go after Love at #7. We need a very good running game that is a threat without a mobile quarterback if we are going to transition to more under center and less Jayden Daniel usage. To do that, we need backs that move the needle. JCM has a place as a home run hitter, but we need difference makers. We don't need Breece Hall and Love - but also that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world in my eye.

We have semi neglected RB for quite some time. Time to put some resources there.

David Bailey is certainly an option still.

I'm also still watching the Tunsil situation. I'm hoping that doesn't become an issue because that can effect the running game and the running back strategy. Tunsil needs to be the first personnel move of the upcoming year.

Moore should probably go back. But I dont think he will. This is a really weak draft class from top to bottom imo. He will still be a high pick. And the difference in income, even with NIL, is huge.

All American Bowl starts at 1:30. Perfect rainy day to sit around, drink beer and watch football. All American Bowl is the top high school payers from around the country. It's a lot of fun to watch these kids progress throughout their entire football career.

Agreed and in my line of thinking, Love and Alec Pierce would transform this offense enormously.
I don’t think Pierce makes FA but I’d like him if he does. That said - I’m not sure this will be his destination as he’ll have many options. But it would be great.
