The 2026 Draft Thread

On Drafttek, Chambliss is all the way down at #10 🤷‍♂️
May be they haven't yet caught up on him?

I had him as one of my later round sleepers, but after what he’s done in the playoffs, people will likely move him up. I’d only move him up two spots on that list, ahead of Green and Klubnik. Probably close with Mateer, who I don’t rate as highly as most. Also think Simpson is overrated. In essence, I think it’s a very mediocre class this year.

In last night’s game, Miami would have walked to a blowout, if they had DBs without bricks for hands. Easily could have had 3 or 4 interceptions. Chambliss is an exciting athlete, and can sling a throw here and there, but his decision making leaves a lot to be desired. Solid NFL backup/spot starter imo.

Someone has to take a flyer on him. College gamers don’t always work out, but when they do… they do. Watching him play the Canes last night… I was terrified of him with 18 seconds left. The guy just has the ice gene that Jayden has.

He’s a top 4 QB in this class.

1. Mendoza
2. Moore
3. Simpson
4. Chambliss
5. Beck? Oh boy.

I haven’t watched any of the small school guys yet so they may slot in here somewhere.

Hard to think of a comp at his size but almost tangible IT factor. Older, non-idiot Johnny Football?

My gut tells me Matayo Uiagalelei Oregon is the best fit - safest play. That said, I'd be with fine with Bailey and I'm good enough with Bain's overall play too.

I can't say I disagree with you. However, he has displayed a better level of play than some of the QBs on that list and taken his team to playoffs and then some which has to add up to his resume's compared to some QBs on the list. I believe I heard during the game that he was a D2 National Champ? Either way, at least he could be a solid backup QB as you said.

Might not be a fit if we trend more athletic for a ZBS fit, but someone to keep an eye on if he can play LG

If only we could trade Lattimore back to the Saints for their first this year. If for no other reason they should do it to assuage their guilty consciences. Think how valuable that peaceful night of sleep is, Saints braintrust!

If Chambliss is there in the 5th (almost certainly not) I grab him. Can't imagine he'll fall that far. QBs go fast, but there's a weird thing where if you're not "the guy" you can fall really far.

We do eventually need to get a new backup for Jayden besides Mariota, doubly if he follows Kliff. Chambliss would be the dream for that assuming the Sam experiment is over. And if you're not the luckiest (since luckiest would have Jayden never missing games) but still lucky you get yourself into a Kevin Kolb situation where he balls out and a team trades you some real value for him.

But Chambliss is probably gone in the top 75. Someone gonna take a shot. I remember when Penix was viewed as like a 3rd, McCarthy a 3rd MAYBE 2nd, Bo Nix was a 3rd rounder, and they all shot up the boards in the couple months before the draft.

^Yes!!! He would be a good selection in the 5th but doubt he lasts past the 4th even though he is small. Worse case is he could be a 4 years QB2

Flip side is maybe we can hype Chambliss into a top 10 pick and get someone to bite at him before 7 to push others down.

HE'S THE NEXT DREW BREES PEOPLE

I'd like to see Sadiq have a huge night and get someone (other than us) to reach for him

Going to need Moore to throw to the correct color uni first though lol

Sarratt is going to work.

Best receiver in the draft.

Dante Moore looks absolutely awful.

Yeah he does wonder if this hurts him in the draft. I haven’t really watched him at all, so hard to judge one game but this is rough.
