The 2026 Draft Thread

Mykell fits squarely in the mold of a guy who got overdrafted on traits because the production wasn’t really there in 2024.

Abdul has only one fewer pressure than Burns playing 50 fewer snaps

Van Ginkel and Greenard were both All Pros last season at EDGE for the Vikings so Turner understandably didn’t get an ideal number of snaps. He has come on this year as a starter and has 4 sacks in his last 3 games

Yeah Turner was a bad example from me.

Here is what I do think is an advantage of edge over WR. I like FA for both spots but I like it better for edge. Also, pass rush is Quinn's niche so I trust him to some extent on thast spot even though they got McKinley wrong at Atlanta.

You know what we aren't drafting early? Offensive Line. That unit was fantastic last night and has gotten better as the year goes on.

Agreed that EDGE feels deeper than WR in FA but no EDGE1s besides Trey and Trey will probably get franchise tagged again

I would absolutely make the play for Aiyuk, which would push me to EDGE vs WR in the draft. The question is how many of the guys in this class are EDGE1s?

From a team building standpoint, in future drafts, I think it is likelier we’ll have an easier time finding an impact WR at #15-#25 than an impact EDGE. Lamb, Jefferson, Egbuka, JSN, Flowers all in that range in recent years

Here’s a wild thought experiment. If JAX were willing to ship out Trayvon Walker (last year of rookie deal is next year), BT Jr, their 2nd, a 3rd and a future 2nd for our 1st round pick, would you do it?

I wouldn't touch Hendrickson with the Eagles' money. That just screams bad contract to me; as does George Pickens.

I am looking at the FA DEs vs. WRs, I much prefer the WRs: Pierce, Doubs, possibly Jajuan Jennings; younger guys like Coker and Robinson would be attractive. Throw in buy-low guys like Nailor. What are you and skinsinparadise seeing that I am not?

I think you jump at that.

Depends where the pick ends up, but that would be tough to turn down in a vacuum. Doubt they’d be interested. They’ll wait one more year (or at least for a stronger QB class) until extracting themselves from TLaw is less painful, and then eventually make a move up for a QB they like. But that won’t be this year I’d think.

I think its a toss up between the spots

as for edge:
Hendrickson
J. Phillips
Mafe
Clowney
Ebukam -- if healthy
Oweh

Who Are the Top EDGEs in the 2026 NFL Free Agency Class?

The group of edge rushers in the 2026 NFL free agency class has some serious star power. The headliner of the bunch is Trey Hendrickson, who received a pay bump in 2025 but is still on the last year of his contract. He’s a four-time Pro Bowler who had 70.5 sacks in his six seasons going into 2025. He currently has four sacks in seven games this year and should get a huge deal in free agency.

Jaelan Phillips got traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Philadelphia Eagles right before the NFL trade deadline this year, and he’s made an immediate impact for the Eagles. He’s dealt with plenty of injuries over the years, but he’s a high-level pass rusher who’s still just 26 years old. He’s currently ranked No. 32 among all pass rushers in PFSN’s EDGE Impact metric with a 79.1 grade.

A handful of productive veterans are slated to hit the open market, too. Khalil Mack turns 35 in January but has four sacks in the seven games he’s played this year, having made the Pro Bowl in nine of his last ten seasons in the NFL. Joey Bosa is 30 but leads all edge rushers on this list with an 80.6 EDGEi grade this season (28th in the league).

Younger talents like Odafe Oweh, Boye Mafe, and Malcolm Koonce should generate looks for long-term deals in next year’s NFL free agency period. Dre’Mont Jones and Leonard Floyd are reliable veteran pieces, while Al-Quadin Muhammad is having the best season of his career in Year 8.

Here are the top-10 EDGEs in the 2026 free-agency

1) Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals
2) Jaelan Phillips, Philadelphia Eagles
3) Khalil Mack, Los Angeles Chargers
4) Odafe Oweh, Los Angeles Chargers
5) Boye Mafe, Seattle Seahawks
6) Joey Bosa, Buffalo Bills
7) Malcolm Koonce, Las Vegas Raiders
8) Dre’Mont Jones, Baltimore Ravens
9) Leonard Floyd, Atlanta Falcons
10) Al-Quadin Muhammad, Detroit Lions

That’s the list for the most part. I’d add Epenesa, Bosa, Chiasson to this list

I think they might be interested if Coen has lost faith in BT Jr and Walker and there is a non QB they really like at say #6 or #7. Gladstone has shown himself to be aggressive for the right player and maybe Tyson or Tate is the guy for them

I'd take a long look at Boye Mafe personally.

You guys are miles ahead already with the draft. Not sure if I can make a contribution this go around but as far as the Edge class goes I'm liking Cashius Howell quite a bit thus far.

Haven't watched him yet, have a little in real time, but I think after the Ryan Anderson experience here, am a little worried about edge rushers with short arms. So with him and Bain i got to see their measurables in the combine.

I think the greater issue with Ryan Anderson was that he was a bad athlete. I remember him having a crappy RAS. Agreed though that short arms do limit ceiling

I mean, that seems like a large overpay on their part, so yeah, absolutely

I’d give Thomas and Walker both 2nd round values currently. Looking at the Spielberger trade value chart, you are right. Those 2 + a 3rd would still be surplus value in our favor.

Abdul Carter got benched to start the game again for skipping more team meetings. Intangibles are such a big part of the draft process that we often know nothing of. I can't recall hearing reports Abdul Carter just didn't care about football.
