So, why isn't Aldrick Robinson returning punts/kicks ? Or even being considered ?

This is baffling me.

Aldrick Robinson seems like the perfect player, or at least the most appropriate player on our roster, to return punts/kicks.

Some thoughts.....

1) no-one else has stepped up.
2) how about that speed ?
3) he's got the "hands" to receive kicks, obviously, since he's a receiver (nevermind yesterday's non-call TD)
4) he did it somewhat in college, and the coach wanted to use him more there, but the only reason he didn't do it more, was because he was a starting receiver....which brings me to #5.......
5) he's not a starting receiver here, so we don't have to worry about risking injury to a key player.

I'm sure there's more reasons, but that's plenty. But I can't think of any reason not to.
So, why havn't I heard his name mentioned ?
Shanahan instead puts in Morgan to return kicks, because he's got a "big body".
Big Body ? What's the logic there ? Are we trying to do the complete opposite of Brandon Banks miniature frame, since the midget Banks was a dismal failure ? Come on, "being big" does not qualify you for being a returner. I don't support Banks' diminutive size, but the opposite - being big can actually work against you, as a returner.
Being "big" also makes you a bigger target to grab a hold of and tackle. Straight-ahead speed is more important. And agility. And Morgan certainly doesn't have those as his strengths. Aldrick does. So why isn't he being considered ? Is he in the dog-house ?

Maybe Robinson has been doing it in practice and shown a propensity to fumble, who knows?

don't think that is reason. Thompson fumbled in preseason games, yet that didn't stop Shanahan from putting him into regular season games.
By that logic, even if Robinson fumbled in practice, he should have at least gotten the chance to do it in preseason.

I think Thompson has potential. With the way we are blocking on the returns Devon Hester would be screwed back there.

I was happy they fired Smith, but I'm not happy they replaced him with Dummy McTurdsforbrains.
