Jerome Murphy (born January 13, 1987) is an American football cornerback for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. He was drafted in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played college football for the University of South Florida.

He has also played for the New Orleans Saints.

He's listed as a DB, not a CB.
I'm sure they brought him in with the intention of him primarily playing or backing up safety

Didn't Hall play some S in the preseason and in camp? Maybe, if this kid can start, they will move Hall over, and have Murphy across from Wilson

I doubt he starts in such a huge game, just a couple days after signing him ?

It will take him much longer than that, to learn Haslett and Morris' system, on how to play "out of position"
