Redskins sign Kentwan Balmer, Domonique Johnson - Byrd, Scott, Thompson, Davis Cut

Via his Twitter feed, Darion Scott has been released. Not sure who is being signed, but it boils my hide that it was not Banks who was released.

What does he have to do to be released? Run backwards into the endzone and fumble intentionally? Oy vey!

Add Brandyn Thompson and Tristan Davis to the cut list.

Redskins signed Kentwan Balmer, which is probably why Scott was let go.

Scott barely got on the field for the Redskins. Nothing lost here in auditioning some other players for depth.

This team could certainly use some vets on the bench who can contribute something.

He was drafted in 2009 I believe, and is 25 years old.

Balmer, who indeed is 25 and 6'-5" 315 lbs, was drafted by the 49ers in 2008 and played in a total of 27 games in 2008 and 2009 and didn't do much-19 tackles and one pass defended in both seasons combined. Last season with Seattle he recorded 43 tackles and 7 stuffs with one pass defended.

Tyler Polombus-6'-8" 300lbs was RT for the Broncos. He was picked up by Shanahan as a UDFA in 2008 and waived and picked up by the Lions in 2010 and traded to the Seahawks within a week in roster cutdowns. Polumbus started a couple games at LT when Russel Oking was hurt. He was waived by Seattle on October 25th.

Polombus already knows the ZBS somewhat so his learning curve should be minimal. I'm sure his ability to play multiple positions is another reason why he was brought in. Kind of a no-brainer at this point in the season. Great? No.....but serviceable. That's about all we're gonna get after eight games.
