REDSKINS SIGN G/C MIKE MCGLYNN
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent guard/center Mike McGlynn. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
McGlynn (6-4, 325) was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 56 regular season games with 47 starts for the Eagles (2008-10), Cincinnati Bengals (2011) and Indianapolis Colts (2012-13).
In 2013, McGlynn started in 14 regular season games and two playoff matchups for Indianapolis. Last season, he contributed to the Colts winning the AFC South division title and tallying the second-largest comeback victory in NFL postseason history after overcoming a 28-point deficit in the AFC Wild Card game against Kansas City.
McGlynn, 29, played collegiately at Pittsburgh from 2004-07, appearing in 47 games with 43 consecutive starts to end his collegiate career. He was a three-time All-Big East honoree and was a third-team All-America selection as a senior.
McGlynn was born on March 8, 1985. He attended Austintown (Ohio) Fitch H.S., where he was a two-way starter in football and earned all-conference honors in baseball.
