Fourth-year tight end Fred Davis already has a very different look now that he is 12 pounds lighter, a result of a renewed dedication and healthier eating habits developed over the offseason.

But it also may take a while to get used to seeing him wearing No. 83 instead of No. 86.

Davis has gone back to the number that he wore while playing for USC. When the Redskins drafted him in 2008, receiver James Thrash was already wearing No. 83.

Davis is also going into his contract year isn't he? :)

That always seems to wake guys up - the smell of mony is as intoxicating for them as nectar is for bees.

again, the problems with Davis have always been in his head. he has the talent to be a top flight receiver and difference maker but just never seemed that motivated to improve.
