Redskins Get #2 Pick!

Thing is we will probably need to show some patience next year. There is a chance he could hit the ground running, but greater chance he will struggle.

This kid is better than what we have had in recent memory, so willing let him grow and learn.

I had heard that the Browns called and offered that deal to late. Apparently the deal had already been made with the Skins.

You snooze, you lose! ;)

SOMEBODY was gonna drop 3 #1's and a #2 for that pick. It doesn't bother me it was us. :D

Got to give the Rams credit. They made a deal and stuck with it. When Browns called they technically could have unraveled ours and made a deal with them.

They did the right thing and honored the deal we made.

IMO, that is what honorable men do.

I did not want us to go all in on RG3 before this happened. Now that we have, I am supporting the move and looking forward to the season that we MAY potentially have a good if not great QB under center and with the big upside that he is only 22 years old!

IF he is the real deal, the trade is worth it, the Redskins were dreadful at QB last year, we certainly did not want a repeat of Rex "the turnover machine" as our starter again, Manning indicated he wants to stay in AFC and not interested in coming here according to several reports and our FO is apparently not interest in Flynn.

I sure hope this works out for us!

We can find two or three in the third and fourth rounds. Nate Potter would be a great choice. Ditto for Mitchell Schwartz. Bobby Massie could be another solid choice.
Are those all RT candidates or OL, in general?

Would love OL depth outside of RT in this draft as well but figure our 3rd rounder now needs to be RT (unless some WR steal drops to us).

That's at least the 2nd time that's happened this offseason.
Apparently Raheem Morris, also received a better deal elsewhere before his official signing with the Skins, but he chose to honor his word with us.
So not only are men choosing the Skins, but they're doing so, when the temptation to go elsewhere is greater. This is a sign that our organization is gaining greater respect in the league, and that is significant.

I saw more smiles than frowns today when the topic of RGIII came up downtown.

Some people are behaving as though we traded 1st rounders for an aging has been like my wife's team, the Raiduhs did.

The sad thing is there will no longer be a reason to play the Right said Fred Parody, "I'm too Rexy."

****in A Bubba !

I feel like I just downed a bottle of Viagra...

This is amazing news to come home too, and thrilled to see the team is willing to do what needed to be done to fill our biggest need on about as sure of a thing you can find in the draft.

Excuse me now, I need a cold shower

:ciao:

what other option did they have? Manning is a noggin tap away from disaster, Flynn is an unknown whom even the Browns apparently found wanting in comparison to RGIII, Tannehill is an unknown and huge overreach in the top 15 (as well as being a development project), it's reasonable to assume that even with Rex under center we were going to hit 8-8 next season...well out of reach for Jones and Landry (without a big trade up)....this was a surer thing for a presumably well researched, potential franchise QB. I'm in....it'll just make golfing a priority the first day of the draft the next two years!

we'll sign one or two top tier WOs in FA equivalent or better than the number 2 we lost. we'll be aggressive in FA for two more years AND still have minimum of six picks (as things sit now)....it's not like the entire draft is gone. where I think this hurts is that it takes us out of contention for the top d-linemen...those do seem to come in the first round....but what the heck....we snagged Jenkins in round two.

it'll all come around.....may take 2-3 years...but it'll come around just like it did for the Gints and little Eli. this is a bold move - one Shanahan doesn't make unless he really believes.

Good by me!!!

So does any one support a trade of our #2 pick this year to the Browns for their 2 firstrounders this year and their first rounder next year?

huh ?

For one thing, our #2 this year was part of the package that went to the Rams.

Secondly, this sounds like some sort of a joke, even if we did have a #2.

i was refering to our no 2 in the draft overall. i.e. the griffin pick-

we could sign flynn and be in great shape for the draft/\

I was just about to type this. I wouldn't, but it is interesting.

I don't see it happening.

Because if it's true, that we got the trade from the Rams, because of favor from Fisher from his friendship with Shanahan, when the Rams could have gotten a better deal from the Browns. And then we turn around and trade to the Browns the bigger picks that the Rams could have gotten, that would be like rubbing it in the face of Fisher, for the favor he did us. Wouldn't be classy, and wouldn't be good karma, and would destroy a good relationship. All of this assuming that the original statement did in fact happen.

It would be equivalent to a really good friend of yours giving you a gift free of charge, that was a sacrifice for them to give away, then you turning around and selling it for a profit, right in front of their eyes for them to know about.
