The Baltimore Ravens are putting their money where their mouth is, partnering with Under Armour to help boost girls' flag football in the state of Maryland. The organization announced on Friday that the Baltimore Ravens and Under Armour have partnered with Calvert County Public Schools and Charles County Public Schools to provide grant funding and uniforms, further developing high school girls' flag football in the fall of 2025. Additionally, Baltimore City Public Schools will add two new programs (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and National Academy Foundation) to the group of teams already competing.
Now entering its third year, the initiative has reached a new milestone: 92 public high schools across the state will participate in the fall 2025 season, with a total of $600,000 in funding provided by the Ravens.
Each school receives $10,000 to help launch and sustain its girls' flag football program. Under Armour continues to back the effort by outfitting teams with custom uniforms.
The girls' flag football initiative began in 2023 and has grown steadily since its inaugural season, which began with 10 Frederick County schools. The following year, it expanded to include 43 more schools from Baltimore City, Montgomery County, and Washington County.
The 2025 season includes additional support from the Washington Commanders, who will help fund programs in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.

“Following two years of successful girls flag pilot programs, we’re thrilled to further expand into Calvert and Charles Counties, and to welcome additional participation from Baltimore City,” said Brad Downs, Ravens senior vice president of marketing, via press release. “From the beginning, we’ve been fully committed to launching and developing this initiative throughout Maryland, and we recognize that providing additional funding is essential to the program’s long-term sustainability and statewide impact.”
