Shooting is too good for the man.

I want the fucker out but I am so angry that he is going to make a killing on the sale of this team that he is looted and neglected for nearly 25 years.

Estimates are that he is in debt to BOA for a cool billion. No wonder they are handling the sale.

We know hasn’t invested in the team at all. Look at what other teams are doing to build practice facilities, training facilities, etc. Redskins park is stuck in the 70s. Yes, they have a bubble, but when I see that building, it just looks old. Maybe they have redone it on the inside, but based on this, I’d say no. The fact he couldn’t see that having good facilities helps the team on the field is just one of his many failures.

Being house poor yet bleeding the team financially to fund his extravagant lifestyle has consequences. Everyone has paid the price except for him.

I'm still pretty agnostic on who I consider my "preferred" new owner--I just don't know enough about any of these billionaires to make a really informed decision.

No way to know at this point what a Bezos ownership would actually look like, for instance. Just using him as the example since he's got the most name-recognition and biggest checkbook. His being sick rich is comfortable and attractive to me as a fan because it's an easy leap to assume he'd be willing and able to invest whatever it takes to produce a winner. But would he? And if he did, would he have a clue how? It's not just another business venture, it's an NFL franchise. Would he listen to the right people, hire the right people and then get out of the way and let them cook? Maybe. Maybe not. Pure speculation.

So, I'm taking a wait and see. At this point the only thing that really matters to me is that we GET new ownership. Not worried we'll get some wannabe, cash-poor billionaire who can't compete. Whoever ends up getting it is going to be a rich sumbich , and he or she will NOT be named Snyder. Get me past that hurdle, then I'll start digging in to the specifics about whoever it is.

Snider's little piece above is comforting ... there are options.

No offense to Rick, whom I enjoy and appreciate, but his main reasons for liking Fertitta is a CNBC reality show and that he owns Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, which he deems a great restaurant.

Fertitta also owns the currently worst team in the NBA.

Personally I’m not overly impressed with either of the two current bidders besides the fact that they would be new owners. I really hope there is better quality lurking around the edges of the process.

lol i think his bigger point was that his businesses generally have a pretty high standard of quality regarding how it relates to customers.

While I want Snyder gone, the idea of a cash-poor billionaire does, in fact, concern me. The more I look at the NFL and this ownership change, the more I realize that all owners are not created equal. With teams costing north of $5B, most of the current NFL owners couldn't afford to buy their teams today. With stadiums costing $3 to $5 Billion to build, most of the current owners can't afford to build a stadium on their own without the assistance of the NFL or the local government. Dan Snyder fits both of those descriptions.

In short, just being a billionaire isn't enough anymore. The NFL is pricing itself into a place where only the super-rich of the super-rich can play.

And Bezos is the only name we have heard that fits that description. The rest of these guys are trying to buy a Ferrari on an Acura salary. While it can be done, there isn't going to be much left over to put gas in the car once it's in the garage.

Oh, agreed. But as I said (badly), I'm not concerned about that happening. Whoever ends up winning the bidding ain't gonna be cash poor. Too many legit billionaires in play for that to happen.

He says confidently.

Guess here is where I should also stipulate that I'm guessing there are names we haven't even heard yet who may end up being players. And that I'm thinking the NFL is going to want to be sure whoever does end up with the franchise is stable and wealthy enough keep Washington news out of the business and crimewatch sections and back in the sports section.
