Emmanuel Forbes Jr. has gotten off to a fantastic start in his first training camp with the Los Angeles Rams but he hit a snag during Tuesday’s practice. Forbes left the field with trainers and was examined further after suffering a hamstring injury.
Sean McVay provided an update after practice, telling reporters that Forbes felt his hamstring a bit during red zone drills and after trying to take the field for team drills, McVay and assistant head coach Aubrey Pleasant opted for caution and prevented Forbes from participating in the rest of practice.
"He just felt his hamstring a little bit," McVay said. "I don't have any updates. It was in one-on-ones in the red zone. He tried to take the first team rep and Aubrey and I were on the same page, 'Let's be smart with him, especially with a soft-tissue.'"
The Rams claimed Forbes off waivers from the Commanders last season after he was waived by Washington. He was a first-round pick in 2023 so his time with the Commanders was short-lived, but the Rams believe they have a playmaker on their hands.
He’s been working with the first-team defense during camp and could push for playing time this season after playing sparingly last year.
