Another TE eh?

TE, 2WR's, bunch of LB's and OL's.
Tells you where they think their future weaknesses are going to be.

There could definitely be a couple PS candidates on that list. After watching the video, I can see why people compare Marvin Burdette to London Fletcher. Great instincts and some nice timing he does a good job of extending his arms to fight off blocks.

Here's another one against South Carolina - better competition. A borderline late hit penalty on the QB and a forced fumble of Marcus Lattimore.

I'm kinda pulling for Josh Jarboe to get a contract and come to training camp.

This crappy video is all I could find with Earl Thomas' little brother Seth, a CB from McNeese St. A longshot but it looks like he has some skills along with decent bloodlines.

What do people think about that dude Josh Jarboe?

I've heard he had some serious character issues throughout his early college career but read that he was the 3rd highest WR recruit coming out of high school the same year as AJ Green and Julio Jones.

"Skye" is an awesome name for a wide receiver.

Let's hope it's an indication of how high he can jump for a pass.

He recorded a 35 1/2" vertical at TCU's Pro day-and quite a bit of speed:

Dates: 03/07/13
Height: 5086
Weight: 160
40 Yrd Dash: 4.39
20 Yrd Dash: 2.55
10 Yrd Dash: 1.49 225 Lb. Bench Reps:
Vertical Jump: 35 1/2
Broad Jump: 09'10"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.26
3-Cone Drill: 6.90

40 Time Range: 4.39-4.41/No bench, hand INJ

Potential kick returner also:

03/07/13 - 2013 TCU Pro Day: Wide receiver Skye Dawson doesn't look like much (5-foot-9, 162), but he showed off his speed at TCU's pro day, recording his 40-yard dash times at 4.39 and 4.40. He caught passes from former TCU and current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. - Dane Brugler,

01/05/13 - TCU wide receiver Skye Dawson and tailback Matthew Tucker will play in the Feb. 2 Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game in Allen, Texas. Dawson and Tucker give the Horned Frogs four players in postseason All-Star contests. Linebacker Kenny Cain is in the Jan. 11 Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in Tucson, Ariz., while offensive guard Blaize Foltz will appear in the Jan. 19 East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Dawson finished third on TCU with 34 receptions for 455 yards this season. He was one of two players in the Big 12 to rank in the top five in the conference in both punt returns (9.4 average) and kickoff returns (23.1 average). A Mesquite, Texas, native, Dawson was a three-time track and field conference champion and 2012 All-American in the 4x100 relay. He won the 2010 Mountain West Indoor Championship in the 60 meters with a 6.69, the third-fastest time in MW history. - TCU football

Looks like we're officially in The Dead Zone, that area after the draft and before mini-camp. Might as well watch some more highlights of our UDFA's.

Here's some from UConn's Nick Williams who looks to be primarily a Special Teamer and Return Man.

Not much out there on Troy WR Chip Reeves. He apparently left school for a year in 2011 but came back in 2012 and put up some big numbers against the competition in the Sun Belt Conference. Definitely a long shot but he looks fast on tape.

We should know a lot more by sometime on Sunday evening or Monday as to how the weekend mini-camp unfolded. Some of the tryouts will sign and others will see their dreams come to an end.

BB, according to Shanahan, a lot of these guys may go to multiple camps for tryouts. From his presser:

On the timeline for players knowing if they made the team:
“I tell them that I can’t tell them for sure. Sometimes a guy will get hurt. Sometimes we’ll lose a player. I just tell them to stay in shape. I tell them to believe in themselves. If they believe in themselves, the opportunity will come sometime, if not from us, from another team. There’s a number of teams next week working a lot of these guys out, so they’ll have some opportunities to go other places and show people what they can do. But there’s a number of players out here today that could be in the National Football League that we won’t be able to sign. I just told them to believe in their dreams and just don’t let people tell you you can’t do something if you believe in yourself.

That’s part of the process of evaluating all these guys. After five practices, what we’ll do this week is look at the tape of these practices and evaluate not only our players that are signed, our free agents and our draft choices in our schemes that we’re doing. But we’ll get a chance to look at some of these young players that we haven’t watched early enough to really make a decision and we’ll do that throughout the week.”

Even if he's not signed this week or next, there may be a guy or two we haven't heard the last of.

Is it Monday yet? I did say that some will sign and others will see their drams come to an end. I never said the roster will be complete after this mini-camp. Also said that we will know more by Sunday evening or Monday. Coach Shanahan has given a presser and we know a bit more now. That's all I'm saying now and tried to say last night.

I got lazy and quoted the presser but I guess my point was, it may take longer than Monday or even Tuesday to know if anyone might be invited to Training Camp given that they'll be watching film of these guys this week. It could be a week before they decide to drop a guy and bring in another.

If I'm not mistaken, the roster is full as of yesterday and they would have to cut somebody even if they wanted to bring one of these guys to camp. Can anyone confirm that?

Yes, with the signing of the 12 UDFAs, the roster is at the 90-player maximum.

Thanks Lanky. With the signing of 12 UDFA's to bring the roster to 90, I wonder what the likelihood of cutting one of those guys and signing one of the non-roster invitees is. I really haven't paid much attention to it in the past. I suppose it could happen if one of those guys really sticks out but I don't recall if there were already 90 guys on the roster or not when they had the rookie camp last year.

It would probably take an injury, IMO.
