Cut him? And get no money back? Worst possible outcome. The only thing I can see happening is if the Skins say "Look, give us back half the $21M and we'll let you go to sign with whoever you want." Even THAT would be a monumental rip-off.

The Redskins will attempt to get back some of the $21 million bonus that they paid Albert Haynesworth on April 1, according to an ESPN report.
Haynesworth consulted with the NFL Players Association before deciding to skip the team's mandatory minicamp this week to ensure that his bonus was safe. The current CBA would seem to prevent the Redskins from going after any of the bonus that was already paid to Haynesworth. The Redskins cut a check on April 1 for $21 million, which is believed to be the largest single check issued to a player in league history. But according to the ESPN report, the specific language in Haynesworth's contract and his decision to skip out on the team's offseason activities might give the team an opening to get back some of the money.
According to the story, a "knowledgeable NFL source that reviewed Haynesworth's contract and the collective bargaining agreement Wednesday morning said this issue is 'open to interpretation' now that the defensive tackle has declined to report to a mandatory minicamp and the Redskins are expected to pursue whatever money they can. The source added, 'this is the type of case where a longshot may be given an extra hard look because it is so egregious.'"

skins are gonna lose the money. that said.....they need to coordinate a plan with NFL leadership to keep him from playing until he meets his contract obligations.

What would we gain by cutting him? No, this calls for cool heads and determination.
Word is Albert said he’ll report to training camp. Someone probably got to him and reminded him that if he didn’t show up for camp the people who paid him to show up for camp would probably want their money back (and would stand a good chance to do so).
I say we call his bluff. I don’t think he has the balls to show up to camp and deal with the media circus and his teammates.
We need to come out of this with some of that bonus he never earned or a combo of draft picks and/or players. Anything short of that would be a disaster.

If he does show up at Training Camp, I hope ALL of the Offensive and Defensive Linemen pick his big arse up, cart him over to the goal post and duct tape him to it and throw Twinkies and Cupcakes at him while the media watches and films.
