Heartbreaking.

The emotional twists from that day still are so fresh. Mourning, loss, grief and tears combined, mixed with anger and an undenying belief that punishment must be unleashed.


My father flew down to visit today, he flew airtran from Akron/Canton to Orlando. He told me that before the plane took off the pilot stood in front of everyone and delivered this message.

"Passengers I am your captain, you're flight crew today has 50 years of combined military experience, you will have a safe flight, God Bless America".


It is moments like this make me believe the majority have not shrugged off and relapsed into a fantasy euphoria where the world is a friendly place. Let us never let our guard down for cowards never strike face to face.

I don't know if any of you knew a victim or victims of this tragedy. I did.

One was a fellow Ricky Rudd fan. He had the best view of the race tonight and I'm sure he enjoyed it.

I didn't knw anyone personally, but I surely took their memories with me when I went to Afghanistan a few weeks later.

And I'm not ashamed to say that I didn't feel bad one bit helping to call the fire down on people that sheltered AQ

Seriously - what more needs to be said? Henry and I are as far away from one another politically as possible. Doesn't matter. Some things trump politics and ideology. Good will always be good. Evil will always be evil.
