When I was in Basic Training, we had a DI just like that, except female. We called her "Inch High DI". If she was 5 foot I'd be shocked. But whenever one of us screwed up, she had a step stool on hand. She'd march over and get it, march back and slam it down right in front of you, walk three steps up so she could finally be in your face, and commence screaming.

Maybe her and the damnny should meet
