Been a long time since we had a game this big this late in a season. Been a generation since we had one with a Redskins team that feels like it might actually be driving into daylight.

20 years of disappointment are a heavy weight on the shoulders though....it's not easy to think about tonight and not feel that familiar pit in the gut....not find yourself thinking we've seen this movie before, over and over, and the ending is always that glassy stare at the screen.

There's something else this time, though. Something that keeps trying to elbow past the pillars of doubt and even---dare we say it---dread.

Nerves.

I haven't been nervous before a game in a long time.

I think it means something.

I believe I might remember the feeling...vaguely.

I seems to recall it being associated with just how high the tide might rise ...

The Giants? Here? Monday Night?

Bring it.

Hail.

This feels like a playoff game. Haven't felt like this before a game in a long time. Definitely the biggest game we've had in 5 years.

Not yet.

I guess deep down I'm still not sold on this year's team. I think the Giants are going to win.

Of course I've thought that the last two games, so at some point the nerves have to kick in. I'm guessing if we win this one I'll be a complete mess. :)

I had to take the cat to the vet late this afternoon and that is always a diversion from anything that is currently going on. Redskins football wasn't on my mind too much today. But I'm ok. I'll either be very happy later this evening or very mad.

I'm actually a little more nervous about this game than I was against Dallas on Thanksgiving. Just hoping we have the same offensive result. I think we're gonna need a lot of points. Also hoping those in attendance bring their "A" game. Gonna need the fans pumped up to keep that playoff atmosphere.

No more nervous than any other game. Like Jimbo, I felt a sense of confidence about the Thanksgiving game. Haven't got a good read or feel for this game.

I will sit in my lucky chair, wear my 44 jersey, and drink Killians Red (for Redskins) with hope of sending positive karma to FedEx Field tonight.

Thing about this one is...we're playing with house money this year. Rookie QBs on losing teams aren't expected to do much, so the prospect of .500 and in the thick of a playoff race suddenly changes the whole picture. This old Skins fan would relish a playoff drive a year ahead of schedule more than a little.

We've waited a long damn time. I don't think its selfish to want a little somethin'.

I'm trying to temper my expectations so as not to be too disappointed. I didn't expect playoffs this year. Or even a chance to contend for a spot. So I'm trying hard to maintain that expectation so as not to set myself up. However, if we win this one, it's going to be hard to maintain an even keel.

Forget...about...you?

Surely you jest, O Great bringer of photographs of Redskins exploits?

We'll think about ya in chat every time somebody goes on an explosive high or explosive low. :)

Enjoy yourself at the game and I hope you come back with fine pics of the sad face on Eli's mug after we win.

If you are a Redskin fan and you are not nervous, then what is with you? Are you still in denial that there is a possibility that the Redskins can actually win the NFC East? Shame on you for not believing in the possibility that part of the future is possibly now.

In my opinion, the problem is we are drawing the Giants at the wrong time of year. Their backs were against the wall a week ago, they came out on top in convincing fashion vs. Green Bay, and if history has anything to say about this, the Giants will just keep rolling along and start getting hot.

If we somehow win this game, officially call me a believer for the final four weeks of the season.

Until then, I will try to temper the positive vibes this team has created the last few weeks and just acknowledge the fact that this is a team definitely headed in the right direction, but just not ready for the big time quite yet.

Not so much nervous as livid with Haslett. I swear this is the most frustrating defense to watch, all time.

I want to hear about Shanahan grabbing him after the game, throwing him in a chair and giving him a hostel (blowtorch to the face).
