He did much worse in Washington, and got 7 years out of us.
He's only been in San Diego 6 years, so it's not quite the same feat of futility.
Maybe 7 is his un-lucky number and he's gone after next season.

I thought people in Seattle thought Holmgren was a terrible personnel guy, and when his role expanded to that they had to get rid of him. So it doesn't shock me he's been fired; I'm actually surprised he lasted this long.

I see your point about his name simply being "Weeden" as an issue and a reason to doubt or at least question the possibility. But IMO, 33 is hardly too old to win a Super Bowl, in and of itself.
