The annual Perseid meteor shower put on quite a show Tuesday night for stargazers from Europe to California.

Astronomers predicted that as many as up to 100 meteors per hour would streak across the sky during the shower's peak.

The display was visible for many lucky enough to have clear skys in the northern hemisphere, but in North America, the best time to watch was just before dawn Wednesday.

my son has been star gazing at the wee hrs trying to catch a glimpse of the shower, but the clouds haven't been cooperating.

sidenote, he met buzz aldrin yesterday, at a nasa press conference. my son is too young to remember him for anything but this... http://bit.ly/bWFmc
