Judge Lifts NFL Lockout, Appeal Likely

I still hope the players lose.

However, I hope the league will have to wait a couple of weeks for a stay and be forced to announce that FA and trades can happen starting at noon tomorrow.

This x a million. I saw a few people on other sites that acted like they won the lottery, and happy as clams that the players won. It was a facepalm moment.

Well... they may have been happy for the ruling, because it puts us one step closer to football being played. No guarantees, of course. But it should help.

And there is always the INSANE notion that the players might actually have some legit complaints. I know that is not a popular notion around here, but it is a possibility.

Correction. Not popular with some. :) Of course a lot depends on how the owner's appeal works out. IIRC this judge has a reputation of being more on the players side so who knows how the appeal will go.

I'm psychologically preparing for a fall without "fubaww" just in case. :(

The players are gonna kill the golden goose! The ones at least who aren't abusing their wives, killing dogs, pushing drugs, shooting up hormones, drunk driving, etc., etc....a noble lot indeed!
 
Looks like an excuse brewing for the Owners to keep raising ticket prices.

Or maybe just parking and food/beverages since it's not part of the cap. Pretty soon you'll pay more for parking and a couple beers than you do for the tickets themselves.

Wouldn't it be funny if somehow the league has the wizz quiz set up on Tuesday? I wonder how many players have been hitting the bong, etc lately believing there wouldn't be anything going on for months?

My God. This could be one of the more interesting four days in memory, as pertains to football. Can you imagine the chaos if FA are allowed to sign while the draft is going on?

It looks as if teams are open for business this morning.

Texans FB Vonta Leach's agent is calling teams this morning. Holmgren said the Browns are open for business this morning. Aqib Talib (Or is it Talib Aqib???) could be released by the Bucs sometime today.

Heatin' up out yonder thar. Yep, gonna git interestin'. Stay tuned.
 
Wonder if this means players can now be part of draft day trades? :uhoh:

If so, there is no CBA and hence no cap so moving guys with big numbers would be possible.
 
Oh goody! Everything just got a whole lot more interesting. With the suddenness of this just as the draft is ready to start there could be some serious scrambling for tactical positions-unless a few of the more astute ones had a "Plan B" in their back pocket just in case something like this dropped out of the sky.

Chaos, uncertainty and confusion-just the way I like it. :)

8th District Appeals Court Clerk Michael E. Gans says no ruling issued either way. Previous reports of lockout back on are erroneous.
 
What a buzz kill yesterday. The NFL is suffering from some bad PR with all this going on during the draft. I know the timing was really out of their hands, but it just looks bad. The last thing the fans need to be reminded of during the feelings of hope the draft generates is that we may not see them playing at all this year. Yeesh.
