Yeah, this kind of just feels like confirmation of what we've known for a while. Had high hopes for this guy once. I know it will be magnified and pointed to as a huge swing and a miss by the team, but in truth, the man was a great football player once, at a position of deperate need on this team. Never really had a problem with the gamble at the time. Sometimes those pay off big, sometimes not.

So, he's going on the PUP list at least, so we won't waste a roster spot on a guy who likely will never play again, right ?

Man, I feel sorry for the guy - he needs to quit for his own good. If you're havin this many hip problems at this age, imagine the hip problems he'll have at the old age when people typically get them.

Shame. I'm thinking there is something wrong with the OU boys we get on the Skins.

Time to cut him loose I would imagine.

Let's see what happens in 6 weeks...that's only 4 weeks into the season.

I'd like to see him come back.
Isn't that a bit of wishful thinking? He had a full offseason to heal. Not a full week into training camp and he's out for all of training camp and another 1/3 of the season. You really think that is enough time to come back and be more productive than Tyler Polumbus who wasn't bad last year?

At some point it's time to move on. I think we've reached that point.

It would save $3.4 mil on the 2012 cap to release JB. We would be on the hook for $3.3 mil in 2013 though.

Re-work a contract or two (push money up to 2012) and it could be a wash for 2013. That's just my guess if we were to part ways with him in the next few weeks.

blah there's not way out of the cap penalties when it's due to injury?

This guy can't be released quick enough, IMO.

He's a Shanny pick up. He has a better chance to be on the bench for two years, and still be on the team, than a Chris Cooley.
