ESPN's Aaron Schatz recently ranked each NFL roster by talent under 25 years old. So where did the Jacksonville Jaguars end up on this list?
Contributing to Schatz's rankings were a number of factors, including the quality of play by those players, the number of starts and snaps played, the relative importance of position, and more.
The Jaguars would end up coming in quite high on Schatz's list, landing at No. 8. Schatz's "blue-chip players" for the Jaguars who are under 25 include Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Travon Walker, and Anton Harrison.
Of note, Brenton Strange, Maason Smith, and Tank Bigsby are also under 25 as well.
Thomas finished third in receiving yards last season, Walker was one of the more disruptive pass rushers, Bigsby was one of the better backs at generating explosive runs, Hunter is playing both ways, and Strange is a breakout candidate this season.
Each of these players mentioned is going to play an important role in determining what level of success the Jaguars find this season.
"Did I give Hunter extra credit when compiling the values that were the basis for this ranking?" Wrote Schatz. "Yes, of course I did. Did I know how much extra credit I should be giving the Jaguars for Hunter playing both ways? No, of course I did not, because none of us knows how it is going to go. But it is going to be fascinating and a lot of fun to watch."
Following an offseason of change and a lot of roster turnover under GM James Gladstone, the Jaguars will enter the 2025 season with one of the youngest rosters in the NFL overall.
Currently on their training camp roster, 31 of the players are rookies, with the Jaguars selecting nine players in the NFL draft and then signing 22 more undrafted rookies afterward.
