Imagine Armstrong will pick up most of those duties, or (grrrrr...) Buchanon... Here's where we'll actually miss Devin Thomas who was lighting it up on returns before we released him.

Hate to say this, but...

Horton to IR is probably the beginning of the end of his time in DC. He had a great rookie campaign and has fallen off the face of the earth the last two seasons. For a period of time, he was a seventh round steal. Hopefully, he can regain his rookie form if at all possible.

No kidding - it's incredible how invisible he's been since then, isn't it? 'Fallen off the face of the earth' is a perfect description.

Anderson Russell is a natural free safety and perhaps is a better fit long-term for the Redskins backfield that has until now been top heavy with strong safeties.

I think like Banks that Russell is a rookie the staff liked all along, it was strictly a matter of finding the right time to add him.

Horton had been a solid special teams performer and that had kept Russell on the practice squad.
