in the meantime williams is coming along quite nicely, at least i think so. he's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but he's coming along.

gomez just isn't ready and doughty is too athletically limited to be a started.

Can't miss what we never had.

What assures anyone Meriweather will make a difference. Until he can get on the field, he is a non-issue.

Can't miss what we never had.
Or a guy who has a history of .......

1) A shooting incident
2) Suspended by ACC and U-Miami for stomping on a player's head multiple times
3) Has been fined THREE times by the NFL, including 2 helmet-to-helmet hits.
4) Has been demoted by the last 2 teams he played for
5) Had a DWI earlier this year.

Doesn't sound like we're missing much.
Sounds more like a guy experiencing karma.
Hopefully him and Tanard Jackson take a one way ticket to the latest new fad copycat football league next season.

Are we watching the same guy?

I don't remember the exact play but he dropped his head and went for the big hit when, if he had been smart and kept watching he could have had an INT. He is bone head looking for the big hit highlight reel, IMHO.

Yeah, I'm with Neo here. Madieu is playing like LaRon, IMO. Going for the big hit (I'm surprised he wasn't flagged a couple times for hits on a defenseless receiver, I'd imagine he's going to get a FedEx or two) but not really making any plays.

Also, don't know if it was Madieu or not, but Josh Wilson blamed cover-2 for Julio Jones' TD - either Williams or Doughty was supposed to be in coverage.

Which is exactly how I would expect Merriweather to play, if he were healthy

Doughty took responsibility for it.
