I really like it. Got it a few hours ago and web pages load quickly and efficiently. This user recommends it.

Yeah, crazy to think that I got it because it is now the fastest browser out there. Beats all the others in virtually every benchmark. I'll take that kind of crazy every day.

My browser is better than your browser.

Wow.

Suit yourself - but I'm not talking about speed. The speed of a browser is kind of irrelevant. As serv pointed out, IE is incredibly vulnerable to hackers, so just be careful.

there is nothing wrong with IE at all..people just like the bells and whistles of the other browsers but they all are essentially the same damn thing..

a good anti virus can stop a hacker
Well, that's not really true. But I don't want to argue about web browsers - you guys keep using what you want. :)

Not worried about hacking or anything else. Tons of protection on this machine. Hackers never go after the little guy. They target companies, governments, banks, and very large fan forums.

:D

Haters will hate. I won't hate on MSFT just because they are MSFT. I'll hate if the product is sub-standard. It's easy to write cliches and hatred - real easy.

I owned a very successful high tech company for sixteen years. I could list my certs as well, but the hate will be there no matter what anyone says. I won't hate on your choices - whatever works for you is good.

I don't hate. MS uses a flawed security model....fundamentally that OS doesn't take advantage of the security framework Intel chips provide. we can go into a deeper discussion of this if you like - or the weekly tonnage of MS patches that characterize that software system. I won't single out the poor coding practices of the past since MS is not alone in placing priority on first to market over security.

we can also skip dubious MS business practices that the now great benefactor of humanity suffered no compunction in exercising in the past. again....MS is not alone in this regard.

My perspective isn't on tweaks for page loading/rendering...it's on basic security. Your perspective is understandably different.

Fansince, although In my personal opinion you are spot on in the structural problems with MS security model, I will have to admit that most reviews I have read of both Windows 7 and IE9 comment favorably on dramatic improvements in the security area so, who knows, maybe the tide is turning.

I have a buddy who is in web work for a living and hacks for a hobby on the side. He is about the biggest geek I know and if a better coder exists out there, I sure haven't met them. He is about as anti-Microsoft as you can but after years of avoiding IE is back to using it as one of his primary browsers (Chrome and Opera are the others). He too raves about the speed and significantly better security on both IE8 and IE9.

The MS architecture relies heavily on dlls, fast system calls, vulnerable Browser Helper Objects....a whole bunch of stuff. Has MS security gotten better? Yup. Is it still continually a whipping post? Yup.
