Free NFL Sunday Ticket For Direct TV Subscribers

I thought this might be of help to Skins fans oustide of DC.

Due to recent disputes with Viacom, Direct TV is being very accomodating in keeping their current customers happy.

I called and told them that I wanted to cancel my service. Specifically, that I have a kid in the house who is furious that a few of his favorite channels are gone. Here is what I ended up with:

1. Free NFL Sunday Ticket for the entire year.

2. Free Starz movie channels for the rest of the year.

3. $10 off the monthly bill for the rest of the year.

The total time spent on the phone was 12 minutes. And I probably could have received a lot more if I had asked.

I hope this might help someone else on here.

I hate that viacom is gone, I miss the daily show. But I wasn't going to complain because it's just a daily commentary - it'll be fien when it comes back.

You didnt have to sign up for 2 more years? I had to if I wanted it but I was a new customer at the time too.

I didn't. But I've been a customer there for over 5 years.

Honestly.....I probably could have received a lot more than I did. But I didn't want to be greedy. I was thankful enough with being able to see the Skins.

Dude, wtf? I called to cancel, hoping for some special deal too. Since my contract recently ended 2 weeks ago, I figured they'd be all about the deals. Instead, they offered $10 a month off if I sign up for auto bill pay. Wtf?

If your contract ended 2 weeks ago, they are offering free Sunday Ticket to any new subsribers. I believe that contract is one year.

Hang up, wait ten minutes, and find a better operator.
