The NFL draft will take place April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Several former Vols, including James Pearce Jr., Dont'e Thornton Jr., Dylan Sampson, Omarr Norman-Lott and Cooper Mays, are prospects in the 2025 NFL draft.
Tennessee had three players selected in the 2024 NFL draft: Jaylen Wright to Miami (No. 120 overall) in the fourth round, Joe Milton III to New England (No. 193 overall) in the sixth round and Kamal Hadden to Kansas City (No. 211) in the sixth round.
Ahead of the upcoming draft, CBS draft analyst Chris Trapasso unveiled a seven-round mock draft. Below are former Vols projected in Trapasso's mock draft.
Trapasso still believes Pearce Jr. is worthy of a first round selection, projecting the Commanders to take him at No. 29 overall.
"Pearce was a tremendously productive defensive end at Tennessee over the past two seasons," Trapasso said.
Trapasso projects Norman-Lott to the Cowboys in the third round (No. 100 overall).
Osa Odighizuwa is the only proven commodity for the Cowboys in the interior of their defensive line which makes Dallas an ideal destination for a young defensive tackle.
Sampson is among the first Saturday selections in Trapasso's mock draft at No. 108 overall to Las Vegas.
33-year old Raheem Mostert is the Raiders' most proven running back. Zamir White is entering his fourth year with the Raiders.
Trapasso projects Vols at consecutive picks in the fourth round with Thornton Jr. to the Bills at No. 109 overall.
Fellow Tennessee product Josh Palmer signed with the Bills in March. Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir are others who figure to be competition for Thornton Jr. to see the field.
