According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Atlanta Falcons have signed kicker Lenny Krieg to a three-year contract. The German-born kicker impressed at the NFL's International Player Pathway program pro day on Wednesday. Krieg had planned to visit multiple teams but Atlanta hosted him first and didn't let him leave without a contract.
The Falcons still have Pro Bowl kicker Younghoe Koo under contract and he'll likely remain the starter in 2025. However, Koo struggled in 2024 as he attempted to play through a leg injury. While most assume the veteran kicker will return to form next season, Krieg gives the team some competition for Koo.
The Falcons could have potentially defeated the Washington Commanders in Week 17 if not for a missed kick from backup kicker Riley Patterson.

Lenny Krieg wowed teams (and @PatMcAfeeShow) at the Scouting Combine and at the IPP pro day yesterday. The #Falcons gave him a signing bonus and a base-salary guarantee on a three-year deal because there was competition to sign him. The buzz on Krieg quickly lands him a gig. https://t.co/AHOUslFbz5
