What a great competition! I got some very creative draft predictions from all the contestants. Everyone of them scored points in some form or fashion, something I was not completely sure would happen when I set the rules out. I also learned some things about the competition and will be making some changes for next year (like instituting some form of tie breakers and assigning point values to all rounds*, not just the rounds the Skins have picks in).

Anyway, on to the results. We have a tie for first place between Burgundy Burner and b&g_lady, who both ended up with a total of 20 points.

BB correctly predicted a trade in the first round and that the Skins would select both Helu and Royster.

B&G_Lady correctly predicted a trade in the first round and that the Skins would take Paul in the 5th round.

Congratulations to these two for doing a great job of finding needles in haystacks and reading Mike Shanahan's mind. :)

*Note on scoring...I failed to assign point values to the 3rd and 4th rounds because the Skins had no picks in those rounds to begin with. You can tell I didn't have a lot faith in the idea of them trading down can't you? So during the draft I decided to assign correct answers in those rounds the same 10 point value I gave to 2nd round picks and leave all other rounds the same. This is the system I ended up using. Next year, I will account for this. Live and learn.

Not your fault - trading down and obtaining picks in rounds we had no pick previously is a foreign concept to Redskins fans.

I recently won a cap and I'm already a premium member. I would like for her to receive the award.

Once again, this simply demonstrates that the Redskins have the smartest women fans. The guys have some catching up to do if they want to match the success of our ladies - me included. :)

I would just like to point out I got neither a cap or premium membership (or an avatar) for my Fantasy Football dominance. Just saying...:)

Use of the word "fantasy" might have something to do with it, brother. Just sayin'. ;)

Now quit yer bitchin'. In true American Male fashion, I focused on the 'fantasy' aspect. Oh - and tell me what ballcap you want and I'll send you one of those too.

Because that's just how cool we are at BGO :)

Haha, love it!

I can tell by your (you and Neo's) responses that you're anti-FF, but fantasy football requires just as much "predictive" ability as the draft contest, except you have to do it week to week for every team. Just saying... :)

No actually - I enjoyed my first FF experience. I was irritated that not knowing a thing about draft night strategy, I got stuck with a team that had zero chance, while those that didn't even show up ended up with great teams courtesy of auto-drafting. Lesson learned.

You should stop assuming you know what people mean. It's a bad habit :)

Apologies, I may have been slightly bristling from BB's "begging" comment. I fail to see how asking for something that was promised is "begging," but I digress. It was also was more directed towards Neo's "fantasy" comment, which you seemed to play on in your response

Hopefully 1) there is football this year so we can get the league (or leagues?) going again and 2) people will ask more questions this year. I stated several times I was available for assistance, but nobody asked me anything! Unfortunately there's not much to be done about the deadbeat owners except threat of physical violence - unfortunately that's very much against the rules here. :)
