WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Final numbers have not yet been finalized as the Washington Commanders and D.C. continue to negotiate a budget plan to return the football team to the nation's capital.
The D.C. mayor's office said they plan to share details on a budget plan soon, although a source familiar with the discussions said no deal has been agreed upon yet.
DC News Now did reach out to the Commanders, who declined to comment.
‘Homes Not Stadiums’ campaign looking to block new Commanders stadium at RFK site through ballot initiative
These negotiations are continuing even as a group of D.C. residents push back on plans to reinstate the Commanders into the area and looking to block the new Commanders stadium from being built at the RFK site.
The campaign "Homes Not Stadiums" wants the land to be used for affordable housing rather than an arena.
However, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has previously made her desire for a new stadium known.
