Williams says ref cussed him out in loss vs. Eagles | Comcast SportsNet Washington

PHILADELPHIA - Redskins veteran Trent Williams said after Sunday’s 24-16 loss to the Eagles that he was verbally harassed by an official toward the end of the first half.

Williams said he wasn’t sure exactly why the official went off him, but the Pro Bowl left tackle said it was profanity-laced and unprovoked.

Williams identified the official who made the comments as umpire Roy Ellison.

“When you have a ref come to you, while you’re at the line about to run a play and call you …excuse my language, but a, 'Garbage a--, disrespectful mother------,’” Williams said in the visitors' locker room at Lincoln Financial Field. “To me, this is a player’s league. I just don’t think there’s no room for that, for you [to] have to take that from the [opposing] team and the refs. I think it’s very unprofessional. It sucks. I’m at a loss for words. You never expect that, as a player going into the game, to have to beef with the refs also.”
We've all seen blatantly horrible calls during our games on a fairly consistent basis this year. Some of us (me, probably foremost in my whining) have alleged conspiracies; whether "official" or not. This will not help shut me up.

It's good to hear that Kory Lichtensteiger was mic'd for the game. I look forward to that audio being released publicly, and sent to the NFL offices.

I wouldn't hold my breath. They are frantically searching for said rug to sweep this under as we speak.

The story is not gaining as much traction as you'd expect.

Of course not it is just the Redskins, now it this were Manning or Brady ****ing heads would already be rolling. It wouldn't surprise me if we never hear anything else about this again.

I could honestly see it going away quietly with no final explanation, just like capgate.

Oh I agree 100% with you and hell there's been dozens of games over the years that have been extremely suspiciously reff'd.

I could just easily see the league hushing it up with an "inconclusive" evidence label. Tapes will disappear just like Belibitch's hand signal stuff.

Looks like it will. Not his first offense and the NFLPA is involved.
Where you getting your info from ? link would be nice.

The only thing in our favor is that Litch and Robert are confirming what Williams said happened.

Eh, this could end up sucking for us. If the refs pull together to protect their own or some stupid ****, we might get fewer calls than usual. Of course, the NFL could also forcibly remind them that they will be closely examining the game tapes for any evidence of bias.

...which will never happen if Mara is involved. Win, how is your "Mara-bitch-slapping" plan coming along?

Sound captured that way isn’t recorded by the NFL or by the broadcast network, and the microphone is open only from the time the huddle breaks until the ball is snapped. At all other times, the microphones are not absorbing sound.
BUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLL****

I watch your shows on NFL network and they have sound after the ball is snapped and while the players are on the sideline.

what a blatant and bad lie.

I GUESS ALL THAT SOUND YOU HAVE OF FOSTER RUNNING AROUND AND GETTING HIT IS JUST ****ING MAGIC OR SOMETHING

jesus christ
