NFL schedules are a marathon, not a sprint, and the best way to approach the 18 weeks is to break the games down into packs of four or five. Philadelphia previously had one of the more challenging schedules over the past two years, and 2025 will see the Eagles among the top ten hardest schedules based on win-loss percentages from the previous year.
They will face the gauntlet of juggernauts in the NFC North and the AFC West and division winners in the NFC West, AFC East, and NFC South.
With training camp fast approaching, we're breaking down the Philadelphia Eagles' schedule into quarters and examining the potential outcomes and storylines.
Week 1: Thursday, September 4: Home vs. Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 PM (NBC^)
Week 2: Sunday, September 14: Away at Kansas City Chiefs at 4:25 PM (FOX)
Week 3: Sunday, September 21: Home vs. Los Angeles Rams at 1 PM (FOX)
Week 4: Sunday, September 28: Away at Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 PM (FOX)
The Eagles have holes to fill on defense, but Dallas will debut a new head coach, and Dak Prescott will play his first game in nearly a year. Philadelphia was in Kansas City's shoes two years ago as the Super Bowl loser, entered Arrowhead, and secured a midseason win. Both teams will play an emotional contest in Week 1. Philadelphia has scored three straight wins against the Rams. The Buccaneers have had the Eagles' number at home over the past three years. Three of the Eagles' first four opponents made the playoffs last year.
Week 5: Sunday, October 5: Home vs. Denver Broncos at 1 PM+ (CBS)
Week 6: Thursday, October 9: Away at New York Giants at 8:15 PM (Prime Video^)
Week 7: Sunday, October 19: Away at Minnesota Vikings at 1 PM+ (FOX)
Week 8: Sunday, October 26: Home vs. New York Giants at 1 PM+ (FOX)
Week 9: Bye
Philadelphia will face the new-look Giants twice in fifteen days, potentially giving the Birds an early two-game cushion over the other three teams in the division. They face two second-year quarterbacks in Weeks 5 and 7, when they host the Broncos and travel to Minnesota. J.J. McCarthy is essentially a rookie and will be throwing to an all-world wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. In terms of defensive EPA per play, the Denver Broncos (0.10) were the only defense better than the Eagles (0.09) during the 2024 regular season, according to TruMedia.
Unlike last season, Philadelphia will get its bye in the second quarter, with a much-needed Week 9 break.
Week 10: Monday, November 10: Away at Green Bay Packers at 8:15 PM (ESPN/ABC^)
Week 11: Sunday, November 16: Home vs. Detroit Lions at 8:20 PM+ (NBC^)
Week 12: Sunday, November 23: Away at Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 PM+ (FOX)
Week 13: Friday, November 28: Home vs. Chicago Bears at 3 PM (Prime Video)
The third quarter will see Philadelphia face three NFC North opponents, sandwiched in between a showdown with Dallas. The NFL season is barrels of emotions, and a Philadelphia team used to being the hunters uses the fuel from the Tush Push getting banned to hunt down the Green Bay Packers. The NFL game of the year could be played in Week 11 when the Birds host the Detroit Lions on NBC's Sunday Night Football. They'll get an up-close look at Caleb Williams in Week 13 on Black Friday.
Week 14: Monday, December 8: Away at Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 PM+ (ESPN/ABC^)
Week 15: Sunday, December 14: Home vs. Las Vegas Raiders at 1 PM+ (FOX)
Week 16: Saturday, December 20: Away at Washington Commanders at either 4:30 PM or 8 PM+ (FOX)
Week 17: Sunday, December 28: Away at Buffalo Bills at 4:25 PM+ (FOX)
Week 18: Date TBD: Home vs. Washington Commanders (Time and Network TBD)
Philadelphia will finish the season with three of its final five games on the road, including a trip to SoFi Stadium to face the Chargers. Pete Carroll has performed well in Philadelphia with Geno Smith, and he'll bring Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty to Lincoln Financial Field. A matchup of two likely MVP finalists will see Jalen Hurts battle Josh Allen in a late December contest in Buffalo. With the division likely on the line, Philadelphia will face Washington in two of their final three games.
The Eagles will play five prime-time games, beginning with their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys, on Sept. 4 at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC, to kick off the season. It was already revealed that the Eagles will travel to face the Green Bay Packers at 8:15 p.m. ET on Nov. 10 for “Monday Night Football” on ESPN and ABC. Philadelphia also hosts the Chicago Bears at 3 p.m. ET on Black Friday, Nov. 28, on Prime.
We predicted a 13-4 record, but the schedule offers enough parity and improving franchises that if injuries occur at critical positions, the Eagles could land at 11-6 or 10-7. The Eagles face a challenging stretch from Weeks 2 to 5 of the 2025 season. This period includes matchups against the Chiefs, Rams, Buccaneers, and Broncos. Even more concerning, the games against the Chiefs and Buccaneers will be on the road.
