We've upgraded our chatbar software in order to meet several of your requests to have 'mobile chat' availability on phones and other portable devices. So the new BGO chat software has the following capabilities:
1) 1 on 1 chat capability. You can click on the 'Who's Online' text. If someone is on that you want to converse with, you just click on their username and send a message. When you get a message, a chat window will pop-up next to 'Who's Online' and you can chat (there will also be the sound of a bubble bursting when this happens).
2) Chatrooms. We have 3 permanent public chatrooms for draft day, game day, and other chat events, and you can also create your own temporary one if you like.
3) Mobile chat. We now have mobile capability - meaning you can chat 1 on 1 with someone on the board from your mobile device, or join a chatroom on gameday or at other times and join the fun. To access chat functionality from your device, just open your mobile browser and go to CometChat ...thats all their is to it. We are asking about having an icon added to the mobile skin to make it easier.
There's a ton of other functionality I won't get into, like the ability to convert the site text into multiple languages, send files, share content with social media sites, play games (alone, or 2 person games), etc...
We love our cometchat software, but it has also been notoriously glitchy. If you spot issues, let us know as our vendor is pretty responsive when we need help. When we get a good crowd on the site over the next couple days, I may put out a request to join us in the chatroom for a test run. But for now, everything including mobile chat appears to be working.
