Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko stood up for his guy.
Yes, he confirmed Thursday, Shemar Stewart is working out on campus.
But no, Elko affirmed, Stewart will not be returning to play college football.
"There's no intentions of Shemar to play for the Aggies this year," Elko told ESPN's Shae Cornette. "But Shemar has been around. He's very comfortable in our program. Really likes what we do training wise. He's been training, getting ready for his season this year with the Bengals. We wish him the best."

Stewart is just hoping to get the "default clause" taken out of his rookie contract with the Bengals, a standard agreement with most first-round picks.
But the Bengals have stood firm so far, creating all sorts of drama and rumors surrounding Stewart.
Based on Elko's comments, Stewart wants to be in the league. It'll just take a small shift from Cincinnati and all should be well here.
