We had one in High School that worked a couple of times.
Before the whistle to start the game, a ref is to count the players on each side of the ball. Our coach would always have the capt go to the ref and tell him there was a man on the sideline in front of our bench who was on the field of play. Mind you this was before they really started to implement a space along the sideline where the players on the bench were designated. As an opposing team the player on the extreme edge of the field on our sideline we had informed the ref about, who happened to be the fastest and biggest scoring threat on our team, blended in with the rest of the bench.
The 2 strikers who kicked off would begin the play toward that side of the field drawing the defense to the ball allowing the hidden player a free run down the sideline. As soon as the defense got drawn in, the striker would pass the ball to the wide open player on the edge who made his move down the field. The player then had the option to take it straight to the goalie or cut it back if the defense had a chance to recover. Until we started getting scouted, we scored off this play 2 times early in the season we went to the Regional finals.
