Anyone Here Ever Use A Toner Refill Kit Instead Of A New Cartridge?

I have a Brother HL-2240 monochrome LaserJet printer. I'm on my last toner cartridge, and was going to order some more, until I saw that I could purchase a toner refill kit for $4.99, instead of the $30 cartridges I normally buy.

I tried refill kits for inkjet printer before, and they were a miserable mess that didn't work, but I was wondering if these are just as bad, or if they actually work. Anyone have any experience with these?

It works, but yea, what a mess.

Do it with gloves on, and on top of a large piece of cardboard

Ugh, I was afraid of that. 1/6 the price is hard to pass on though.

Would a funnel help me in this endeavor?
