Analyst Names 1 Thing Stopping Commanders' Jayden Daniels From Reaching Elite Status originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels took all before him in his rookie season, leading the franchise to the NFC Championship game.
With the help of culture builder Dan Quinn and offensive wizard Kliff Kingsbury, Daniels and Washington were the feel-good story of 2024, but now, as we turn to 2025, expectations are at an all-time high for the franchise.
Granted, that is largely due to Daniels and his ability to elevate those around him.
As such, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has named Daniels one of the best players for a franchise to build around.
"Most fans think of quarterbacks when they think of true franchise players," Knox writes. While the NFL has plenty of talent at that position, there are never more than a few truly elite signal-callers in the league at any given time.
"While Daniels' sample size is relatively small, it feels like an injury is the only thing that could stand between him and being a perennial top-five quarterback."

If Jayden's rookie season is anything to go by, the Commanders might be thinking they have their quarterback for the next decade, possibly more.
We have a small sample size of Jayden, but my word, what a sample it was. Now he has to replicate it in Year 2, which promises to be a far trickier task than most think (just ask C.J. Stroud).
But after one year, it does feel like Daniels is the type of quarterback a franchise can build around, and general manager Adam Peters has done just that.
Now it has to produce tangible results.
