Outside of the "last supper" moment I thought that opening ceremony was really cool. The horse riding across the water, the balloon holding the flame. Well thought out.

Simone looks like she could do it again. I expect big things from her.

What are you watching this season?

I'm most interested in the tennis. Nadal vs. Djokovic 2nd round singles match in what will likely be their final match against one another will be something to see. Unfortunately, the coverage I am getting here in Canada is making it damn near impossible to see any of the matches. There seems to be a love for all events that are not tennis.

I'm excited for wrestling, of course.

The US men's basketball team came out flat in the beginning of the game this morning and I got nervous. But, they soon realized who they are and just took over.

My house is divided between Aussie vs America in swimming. It's made for some funny trash talk.

I haven’t really gotten interested this time around. The freak show opening ceremony didn’t help. I did enjoy watching the US Women’s soccer team dismantle Germany today. This is a very easy US squad to root for.

I usually find it a bit difficult to get into the Olympics the first few days, as it picks up into other events it'll gain some more of my interest. Boone I don't disagree the opening ceremony was weird, odd and a total WTF is going on.

Naughty Canadians caught using drone technology to spy on opposing men's and women's closed soccer practices.

I guess for the coaches like Priestman the motto 'if you aren't cheating, you aren't working hard enough' applies :p

They we're apparently counting on the secret service to be providing protection instead of the Olympic authorities.

I have been provided with badminton, sailing, equestrian, archery, skeet shooting, etc on tv here. You know, all of the major events.

It's not even a fake stat sheet. She's just that freaking good.

As an American living abroad, I have to give major props to NBC/Peacock for the absolutely brilliant coverage they have provided. 10 stars out of 5.

Two women wrestlers have gotten gold.

We are running away with the medals now!

Quincy Wison, the 16 year old Marylander from the Bullis School, is scheduled to run in the 1st heat of the Men’s 4x400 Relay tomorrow. If so, he will be the youngest male American track & field athlete to ever compete in the Olympic Games.
