2 NFL Head Coaches on the verge of a brawl

This isn't the first time for Harbaugh.
 
Harbaugh was definitely unprofessional, but I think this is much ado about nothing. Harbaugh was excited over a tough win and Schwartz was pissed that Harbaugh was so exuberant. Harbaugh shouldn't have been so giddy and Schwartz should not have run after Harbaugh.

Schwartz claims he heard obscenities, but the tape really doesn't show Harbaugh slinging them. Harbaugh sorta apologized, but wasn't really that genuine stating, "I shook hands too hard! It's on me."

Unfortunately, Schwartz could be the one who is fined because he actually "assaulted" Harbaugh. Assault may be a harsh word, but Schwartz ran after him and made contact. In most states what Schwartz did was a crime.

When all is said and done, I don't think either will be fined and it will all be swept under the rug since both teams are hot tickets right now.
 
This is 100% on Schwartz. Its football, what are they supposed to do, curtsy to each other after the game?
 
Curtsey? Of course not. Act like a professional? Of course. 99% of coaches in all sports at all levels do so.

Harbaugh's post-game reaction was immature and over the top. Schwartz's post-handshake was as well.

Eh, he shook his hand like a man and slapped him on the back. Schwartz should have shrugged it off and walked away - like a man. That's what the bigger man does, walk away. Schwartz showed he in fact was not the bigger man, and let Harbaugh get to him when it wasn't even his intention. 100% on him.

Now, I'm not saying Harbaugh wasn't out of line a bit, but starting a fight over that? Shows a much bigger lack of professionalism than anything Harbaugh did, IMO. Its the weaker man that seeks conflict over perceived slights.
 
If that happened between 2 opposing players on the field (which actually happens quite often), it would not be a big deal. In fact, it wouldn't be a deal, at all.
It shouldn't be any different with coaches. In fact, since coaches are supposed to be more mature than players, it's even more of a tragedy that Schwartz over-reacted like that.
 
Yup, I was right! Neither was fined and it is being swept under the rug!

Without getting into a pissing match, I am simply going to say I cannot for the life of me understand how you, Lanky, think what Harbaugh did was anything but unprofessional. He was jumping around like a giddy child!

You are correct to say Schwartz was wrong, he should never have chased down and made contact, but Harbaugh acted unprofessional!
 
I'm with FTS and Lanky on this. Unless Harbaugh said something rude to Schwartz I'm not sure what the big deal was. Maybe he was a little exuberant, but I didn't see any attempt to rub it in or anything.
 
Again, unprofessional of Harbaugh initially. Unprofessional of Schwartz in response.

It's okay to be critical of them. They're men. They're 40.

Yeah, but there are degrees of unprofessionalism - I can talk about a coworker behind their back or I can take a **** on their desk; both are unprofessional, but at pretty different levels. :)

Harbaugh was excited, and yes he should have been a little more stoic in his approach. I am not giving him a free pass here, however its often the response that gets scrutinized, not the original action (and rightly so). You have to deal with stuff like that all the time at every job - the correct response is to ignore it. Taking it even further through confrontation is beyond unprofessional in my opinion, its petty and childish.
 
I'm having a "mountain out of a molehill" reaction to all this.
