Dolphins...they chose Rosen over him. Bengals need to move on from Dalton, they could have chosen him. The Jags, but they chose Foles.
While not all the decisions were made during the draft, as many as 5 teams were in need of QB. Not one of them decided to stay put and draft Haskins.
I'd bet the house on it.
Meanwhile, there were so many who thought the Cardinals were throwing away equity when they decided to draft Kyler Murray. They are sitting in a far better place with him behind center than Josh Rosen. You think the Cardinals are thinking it's meaningless noise about this time. The precedent has been set, if you draft a QB in the 1st round one year, and the following year you have a chance to draft a better one...pull the trigger, cut bait, or whatever else you want to call it, but make the move to make the team better...don't rely on what could be.
Like you and many others said when RG3 was drafted, it doesn't matter how much you spend for a franchise QB...they are priceless. So that 15 pick from last year is not worth that much if we have a chance at one of the 2 QB's who will be better in the NFL than Haskins ever will.
You're not even making sense Brian
Murray can at least be given some early assessment - because HE'S PLAYING! I'd be the last one betting the farm that Murray is a long-term NFL star after a handful of starts. Haskins hasn't been named a starter for even a single game, gotten the game prep, and played a game. He got thrown in for a handful of minutes with no prep. That's just a fact. You use the 'they grabbed Rosen and Foles - that's a referendum on Haskins talent? How's that working out? That's supposed to be evidence that the Redskins made a mistake on Haskins?
I love you. You were right about Griffin not having the physicality to hold up with the game he possessed. I have given you credit for that and good for you in seeing what few others did. Doesn't make you Nostradamus brother. Murray is not I don't know if Haskins is capable of being a great NFL QB. But I do know that he's a big, physical, strong-armed QB who showed great accuracy in his single year as a college starter. He certainly had the athletic potential to be a first round draft pick. As to some of the statements you and Al have made - that Haskins is inaccurate, lacks the intellect or QB instincts to succeed at this level, whatever - I'm not buying it.
I think he deserves a chance to actually play before all you internet talent experts write him off.
