Statement by NFL Spokesperson

His character is the best.

But I assume that he wants to start somewhere, and that may not be in the cards here.

Other teams will also throw serious cash at him. I can't remember the last time a RB with 3 1k+ seasons became available in FA.

I don't know, and kind of doubt that he fits the Dallas running scheme, but that's the kind of RB-needy team that would love to have such a player.

Denver and Atlanta run his zone scheme, but they already have great RBs.

There are also two "Todd Gurley" type of RBs coming out of college this year to amazing hype.

So it is possible that teams fight over those guys, and that his market might be just soft enough for us to compete.

There are a lot of potential free agent RBs next season: 2016 NFL Free Agents Tracker | Spotrac

Matt Forte, Chris Ivory, Doug Martin, Ronnie Hillman, Lamar Miller, James Starks, LeGarrette Blount, Chris Johnson who are all starters right now.

I always thought because of Morris' age and production, he would get a big offer. I don't think he's the coaches choice, so I expect him to leave. But looking at this list of potential RBs that will be available, maybe he doesn't get that big contract and decides to stick around.
