REDSKINS TO INDUCT JEFF BOSTIC
INTO RING OF FAME AT SUNDAY’S ALUMNI HOMECOMING GAME
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins will welcome more than 145 Redskins greats into town for the team’s annual Alumni Homecoming game on Sunday, Oct. 25 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
As announced in September at the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s annual Welcome Home Luncheon, the Redskins will induct Jeff Bostic and Monte Coleman as the 46th and 47th members of its Ring of Fame this season. Bostic will be formally honored with induction at halftime of the Alumni Homecoming celebration this week. Coleman will be formally honored with induction at halftime on Dec. 20.
Other alumni expected to attend homecoming weekend festivities include Pro Football Hall of Famers Russ Grimm, Ken Houston, Sonny Jurgensen, Bobby Mitchell, Charley Taylor, Redskins Ring of Fame members Larry Brown, Gary Clark, Pat Fischer, Ken Harvey, Billy Kilmer, Brian Mitchell, Mark Moseley, Brig Owens, and members of the 80 Greatest Redskins Mike Bragg, Terry Hermeling, Ron McDole, Raleigh McKenzie, Mike Nelms, and George Starke, among others.
The game day Homecoming celebration will also feature an alumni parade, which will begin at 10:15 a.m. with the Redskins Marching Band and Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, as well as the annual alumni group photo and pregame introduction of former players and coaches in attendance.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, more than 50 Redskins alumni will team up with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, the Bender Foundation, United Way of the National Capital Area and KaBOOM! to give back to the community by participating in a playground build. The build will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Southern Market Place in Oxon Hill, Md. with the best viewing of the playground construction occurring from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and interview opportunities occurring between 1 – 3 p.m.

Redskins alumni from all three Super Bowl Championship teams are expected to participate in the build, which has been themed around the NFL’s 'On the Fifty’ Super Bowl campaign. The new playground will bring more than 1,800 kids in Oxon Hill one step closer to having the play-filled childhood they deserve. The design of the playground is based on children’s drawings created at a special design event in August.
