REDSKINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:

The Redskins signed the following free agent:
CB Trey Wolfe

The Redskins signed the following college free agent:
CB Tajh Hasson

Trey Wolfe averaged .7 interceptions per game in college, leading the entire NCAA
But off the field issues caused him to switch schools twice, and also caused his 2014 draft stock to drop.
Definitely a low-risk/high-reward potential player, and a guy to keep an eye on, in TC.

Roquemore has never seen Wolfe get beat on a deep pass. He throws out names like Darrelle Revis, Darrell Green and Deion Sanders and concludes, "I think he can be one of those guys, I really do." He calls Wolfe the best cornerback he has ever had.

If there is one component of a team McCloughan seems to have a real good feel for is the secondary.

In both SF and Seattle these teams were able to come up with pro bowl players at corner and safety using mid round picks and in the case of Brandon Browner, a guy from the Canadian Football League.

This is a guy you'd love to see "make it" after all that ... but at this point, it's hard to project him making the final 53.

Seattle picked him up as an UDFA on 8/5 last year, and released him the next day.

They re-signed him 8/9, and released him again on 8/29.

The Skins signed him to the practice squad on 11/26, then to a reserve/future contract for the 2015 season on 12/29.

Skins waived him May 4 of this year, then re-signed him yesterday.

I hate to be snarky, but that's not how a Revis, Green or Sanders would have taken to the NFL.

He would be great for the practice squad. We need quality guys there that we can call up when we have the need.

No one thought this guy was another Green but if he could become a solid depth player that's a net win for the organization.

My comment was specifically in response to the player's former coach invoking Green, Revis and Sanders while talking about the kid.

And I was mostly pointing to the way he's been just barely hanging on by his fingernails since being signed as an UDFA by Seattle last August. Sign, release, rinse, repeat.

Anyway, kid clearly has shown Scotty M enough to want to take at least one more extended look this offseason ... and that says something, no doubt. Rooting for him.
