REDSKINS ADD COLLEGE FREE AGENT

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Redskins announced today that they have signed the following college free agent. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Instant scouting impression:

Slight frame ... good ball skills, balance ... fearless over the middle/in traffic.

Will need to get stronger to consistently get off the line in the NFL.

If route running is solid and can play on teams, has a chance to stick.

The dude just seems tall, relatively speaking, just compared to the average typical Redskin receiver - but not compared to the typical NFL receiver.

Fear for the longest time here and on just about any other redskins fan board you would hear guys gush over prospective wideouts just because they were tall. We suffered year after year of not having tall enzone threats and moved the ball with small speedy guys but couldn't quite finish and score with them. We struggled in the redzone for what seems like well....ever. Many of us perceived that as a lack of size and many took it way to far basing FA aquisition fodder all in 2 categories, either tall enough or not tall enough. Anthony Mix was the perfect example of this mentality. We were sooooo starved for a big bodied receiver that we all begged the football gods that he would work out when in reality he was a scrub. Nowadays we seem to be past that mentality because we all saw it was silly, but it is fun to poke fun at, even though we never really got to experience having a highly skilled, tall, big bodied receiver on our team. So when you see tall receiver and hearts or love emojis surrounding its that "inside joke" that some just don't or won't get.

Well, Brandon Scherff is 6'5.
So, what would you call HIM, assuming he becomes an eligible receiver on the play ?
 
I'd call him an asshat. If his name rhymed with steer.
 
His bio seems fine for a UDFA signing.

How glowing do you expect the prospectus to be on a guy that was passed on 250 times in the April draft?

''6'3 218 receiver with 4.35 speed and route running skills of an eight year veteran".

Is that what you were hoping for? 😄
