350 km/h on a public highway!

Allow? I'm not sure how many street legal cars can even do that.

Admittedly, it was a very remote highway, and was closed during filming, but it is still a public highway.

You would be surprised at how many street legal cars can go that fast.

Moat American cars have a regulator now that shut the engine off at a certain speed. It would have to be modified to take that off and most likely super charged

217.5 mph?

Yes please.

Fastest production car tested in the US is the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ... maxes out around 185 mph. Of course, we Yanks tend to celebrate acceleration more than top end. 0-60 in 3 seconds; 0-100 in 6.8. Like getting hit in the ass with a shovel.

Was curious about top end in production cars, so just for grins:

Be interesting to learn which if any of those would be street legal in this country.

#1 on that list ...

SSC Tuatara. 1350 hp. Tops out at 443 kph (275.26 pmh)

Hell yeah.

This is street legal and American made...

That looks just like my recent excursion to Skyline Drive. :drive:

Awesom vid. He maxed it at 172 on that long backstretch.

I heard this weekend so many hellcats were pre ordered they've stopped making them altogether.

Actually, they don't shut the engine off. 99% of the stuff out there rely on "rev limiters" which will retard timing and fuel when you hit the limit predetermined by the manufacturers to keep the engine in a safe operating range. Get into many vehicles and try to rev the engine in park or neutral, and they won't rev very high, as to protect the engine. Some use two limiters, a soft and hard limiter. While the 200 mark isn't common, there's a lot of cars that do come close. Hell, there's lots of bikes that come close, but there is a regulation that bikes are limited to 183mph. As you say, mods can be made to bump you up. Many of these cars are not naturally aspirated, and simple mods to boost settings and pop off can make all the difference.
