Quarterback Robert Griffin III

On what wasn’t clicking for the team today:
“Offensively, we had limited possessions in the first half and in the second half, we just didn’t get in rhythm. For me and my evaluation of the game without watching the tape, those two interceptions can’t happen. It’s not what I do. We don’t turn the ball over. I’d like to have those back but I thought we had a good chance to win the game still there near the end. We just couldn’t find a way to make it happen. So yeah, not the way we wanted to end it but it’s another growing pain.”

On takeaways from this season:
“Yeah, man. It’s been a real long year. It’s been a tough year – a lot of adversity and a lot of things you can’t control but at the end of the day, we get to play this game and have an opportunity to play this game. That’s the way we approach the entire season. It didn’t go the way we wanted it to go, but every time you get an opportunity to step out there it’s a blessing. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed going out there and fighting with those guys, even in games like the one today. It’s tough when you lose a game by the final score of what we did. But like I said, it’s a blessing and you’ve got to look at it in a way that you’re going to find ways to make it happen. We’re in a problem solving business, not a 'deal with what you got’ kind of business. We’ll figure out the problem and we’ll solve it and I definitely want to be a part of the solution.”

On improving timing between himself and the receivers:
“I mean it’s something that we’re going to continue to have to hammer in throughout the offseason –finding our identity and getting a grasp of what [Head Coach] Jay [Gruden] wants to do and wants us to be and then going forward with that full steam. We have the weapons to do it. We have the players on this roster to do it and, like I said, we’re in a problem solving business so we’ll solve that problem.”

On the evolution of his game:
“I mean, I think it’s important to know who you are as a player. I know who I am. I know what I have to get better at and that’s what I’ll focus on this offseason and, you know, keep moving forward from there. We have a chance to do something special here and I think great things are ahead here – not only for this team, but for this city and for these fans who deserve better. When you step out there on the field and there are a lot of Dallas fans out there, that’s not because our fans are just not showing up. It’s because we’re not inspiring them to be out there and that’s what we’ll do [moving forward]. That’s what my job is as quarterback – it’s to inspire and to win games and we’ll do that.”

On the things on which he has to improve:
“That’s not something I want to sit up here and talk about. My job is not to critique myself or to critique anybody, as I’ve learned. I will go back and watch the tape and have a laundry list of things I know I want to work on in the offseason and then continue to be the confident player that I know I can be. I know the other guys in that locker room will do the exact same thing. Like I said, we will fix this problem. That’s a promise. There is not anything we can say between now and next time. We have an actual live game that is going to change that. We’ve got to prove it.”

On what is next for him:
“I’m definitely going to work with Coach [Terry] Shea again, and I will definitely be around Redskins Park. I can’t technically work with [Offensive Coordinator] Sean [McVay] and [Head Coach] Jay [Gruden]. It’s a league violation, but I have that plan. It’s pretty much already set. I’ll do that. It’s not something I need to announce but we’ll be ready. I think we were ready for this year and some things happened and it didn’t go the way that we wanted it to go. That’s not something that is going to deter me or any of those guys in that locker room from coming back ready to go and being confident about what we can do.”

On if his shoulder injury affected his accuracy:
“I have to go back and watch the tape for the INT [interception] and like I said before, I’d like to have those throws back. And there’s no excuses…There’s no excuses for that kind of stuff.”

On if he has discussed plans for next season with Head Coach Jay Gruden:
“We haven’t had that discussion or cleared the air on any of that kind of stuff. My focus is I want to be here. I want to be here to help this team win, try to turn this thing around and change the culture around here. That’s my only focus. If Coach Jay and this organization wants me to be around, then I’ll be here. I’ll be ready to go. I’ll make sure that happens. I will link up with my teammates this offseason and we will go to work, that’s the only thing we can do.”

Linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat

On his interception:
“Well, he played it like a run. The offensive lineman came up to block me. I saw he was staying back and wasn’t trying to drive me off the ball so I was like, 'OK, I’ve got to dip out.’ I saw the running back back there and I was like, 'OK, turn and sprint to him.’ So I’m waving his hand and look up for the ball. I just turn around, put my hand out and saw the ball right there. I caught it. It was hard to break that tackle and get to the end zone. I was just happy I caught that thing and set us up. It was nice just to go out there and make a play. This is my first career start, so to be able to get an interception, it was big. That’s awesome, especially against the Cowboys who are a playoff team.”

On improving as a defensive unit:
“As a unit, we need to sit down, see what things we’re messing up on and correct those. The biggest thing though is that we got too many penalties. I’m to blame for that, too. I got a penalty as well. Against a team like the Cowboys, you can’t go out there and get penalties. That’s one thing we have to correct. We play some good ball. Obviously, we’re 4-12 but there are things we can build on I think.”

On his increased role on the team:
“It’s a blessing. It’s very rewarding. I’m excited I was able to come back, bounce back, keep faith and keep on pushing. That’s what I did. That’s why I kept faith. It’s not over yet. There’s still a lot more football to be played next season and everything, so I just can’t ride on this. I’ve got to get back to work and get ready for the next season.”

Tackle Trent Williams

On the season:
“I’m just glad it’s over. Like I said, next year – everyone is looking forward to next year. [It’s a] clean slate. [It’s] getting the chance to put this season behind us. It’s been a tough go at it, but it’s definitely going to make us stronger as a team.”

On the toughest parts of the season:
“Just the frustration of not clicking like we know that we can and not being able to play to our potential. That’s it.”
Cornerback Bashaud Breeland

On improving during the season:
“There’s a lot of improvement, man. Each week we’d be putting new players in and we’d try our best to get them ready. Some of them came up and made big plays like No. 53 did today – [Jackson] Jeffcoat. He stepped up and made a big play for us.”

On if Dallas avoided his side of the field:
“Man, I can’t really tell you the truth. I don’t know their game plan. I really don’t know. Me, I wasn’t tried a lot. I don’t know the reason for that. I wanted to go against [wide receiver] Dez [Bryant] the whole game. I mean, sometimes he lined up on my side, sometimes he didn’t. When we lined up, they ran the ball. Sometimes they went away from me but that’s not in my control. I can only control things that I can control.”

Wide Receiver Santana Moss

On his thoughts looking back at season:
“I really don’t have much to say about it, you know what I mean? It is what it is. We laid an egg. We didn’t play up to our potential and that’s why we are sitting where we are sitting and that’s all you can say.”

On being on the field with uncertainty about his future:
“Just play the football game that’s all. I told y’all, I don’t get into all that stuff. Y’all drag stuff on and make it bigger than what it is. Told you when I’m done, I’ll be home, won’t be no goodbyes and that’s how I do it. I’m not going to sit here and make it about what this is. I don’t predict nothing and I don’t plan for nothing so whatever happens, it will happen on the go. It happens how it’s supposed to be. So at the end of the day, I treat it like another season, another one down the books and I’m going to go home and prepare for whatever is next.”

On the game getting messy:
“It got out of hand. Those guys are the NFC [East] Champs for a reason and they went out there and they played their behinds off. We’ve got to be better and we kind of showed the performance we had today throughout this year and that’s not acceptable. We can’t expect to win games and look like we look. I say that time and time again, you have to have some type of pride on all phases. We have to be able to stop people, we have to be able to move the ball and we have to be able to make plays on special teams. So that’s all three phases that we haven’t show enough potential to win games and you can’t do it one game and next game go backwards. You always [have] to move forward, so, that’s been our case this year and that’s why we stand where we stand. At the end of the day, everybody that’s a part of that, myself included, we just have to look ourselves in the mirror and try to see what we can do to help our self or help this team get better.”

Cornerback David Amerson

On how frustrating the game was:
“It was very frustrating. To end the season like that would be frustrating for anybody.”

On what happened on the long Dez Bryant touchdown:
“They had a good adjustment for our all-out blitz. You throw it to one of their best receivers, you miss a tackle on him – that’s what’s going to happen. Everyone is blitzing, it’s no one to help you make the tackle, so one of two things is going to happen: you’re going to make the tackle or he is going to go yard. He went yard.”

On the adjustments they made since the last time they played:
“We came out with the mindset that we were going to do what we were going to do and they got the best of us.”

On what’s next for him:
“I am going to go into the offseason, train, get better, and come back next season ready to play. That simple.”

On how he would evaluate his season:
“It’s definitely a lot of places where I can get better, a lot we can get better [at] as a team. I think the main thing is to identify those going into the offseason and really focus on them. Whether it’s watching film or getting in the weight room, getting bigger, faster, stronger and coming back mentally and physically prepared for my third year.”

Safety Ryan Clark

On if it was a bad tackling effort today:
“Yeah it was. That was bad. It’s probably the worst half I’ve had in my life, especially the first half, and so you know it wasn’t because guys weren’t giving effort. They have good players, we missed some gaps, we didn’t have the right spacing on a lot of plays and so it left guys to have to make extremely hard tackles and we didn’t make them. [Head Coach] Jay [Gruden] came in and challenged us at halftime – guys continued to play. I think we gave ourselves a chance to make some plays down the stretch and have an opportunity to be in the game. We obviously don’t want to end it the way that we did but you have to give credit to Dallas, they’re a very good team. They’re 12-4 for a reason. They came in here on the road and continued to roll today.”

Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan

On how frustrating this game was:
“Yeah, [that was] not the way we wanted to end things. Our fans deserve better than that, our coaches deserve better than that. We as players have got to do better than that, than what that crap was we put on film, especially the first half. That was totally just a butt kicking. We’ve got to do better than that.”

On the lack of tackling in the first half:
“To put it nicely, it was very poor and myself included. I missed a bunch of tackles, didn’t do a good job of putting pressure on the quarterback, so just not a good day for us defensively.”

On if he has to do a lot of soul searching:
“I mean, not much soul searching. We’ve just got to play better. Defensively, we’ve got to eliminate all those big plays, create more turnovers. That was our two points of emphasis coming into the season, we didn’t – especially today – we didn’t do a good job of either.”
