Week Fifteen Grades, Questions

Are we really encouraged by an eleven point loss? Welcome to week fifteen questions and grades as the Redskins put forth another gut-wrenching loss against the Giants, but team members and fans are furious with game officials. With no further hesitations, let’s get right to it. Feel free to offer your own grades, opinions, suggestions, and ideas. Also, we have some questions to close out this fifteenth week of action.

Let’s take a look at the grades.

Quarterback:
Colt McCoy got the nod, but left very early with a season ending injury. Robert Griffin, III flashed some of his amazing skills and provided a reminder of why he was chosen so high in the 2012 draft.
Grade: B-

Running Backs:
Alfred Morris had another tough outing, but Silas Redd continued to provide some spark coming out of the backfield with three receptions for sixty-two yards.
Grade: D+

Wide Receivers:
A balanced attack from the receiving corps helped to keep the team in the game.
Grade: B

Tight Ends:
The tight ends were not a factor on Sunday and produced nothing of note. However, they were a bit better in the blocking schemes.
Grade: D

Offensive Line:
This unit continues to have struggles, but they were improved from a week earlier. No real glaring mistakes either.
Grade: C-

Defensive Line:
For the second week in a row, this group of players had their shortcomings. If affects the defensive performance overall.
Grade: F

Linebackers:
Ryan Kerrigan had another sack, but the linebacking corps was held somewhat in check by the defensive line failures.
Grade: B-

Cornerbacks:
It would be easy to give this group a failing grade, but they actually did a bit better than you might expect. David Amerson did a respectable job and Bashaud Breeland had a couple of penalties that should’t have been called (as per the NFL).
Grade: C-

Safeties:
The same grade will be given as the corners. No major mistakes were made, but nothing of note stood out.
Grade: C-

Special Teams:
“Average” best describes the STs on Sunday. They were certainly better than the previous week and the newcomers to the roster made no obvious mistakes.
Grade: C

Coaching:
Coaching was far better than what we have seen at times this season. Playing a weaker division opponent certainly helped, but the defensive scheme for Odell Beckham was sorely lacking.
Grade: C

Week fifteen passes into the history books. How would you grade each position and the coaching staff? What are you looking for in the coming week against the Eagles? Do you cheer for losses and a better draft position? On to week sixteen!

See you again next week.

Hail to the Redskins!
