I am sick and tired of watching us with the worst OL in the history of the NFL year after year. We have good if not great skill positions players, our WR depth is amazing and DJAX' skill set and playmaking ability is going to waste with all these losses.

Dan cannot you not see that we need a ****ing OL that is not so god damn shitty??? Do you not recall that when the team was winning SB's that we had a great OL with journeyman RBs and QBs?

There is no time for the QB to pass and Alfred on way more times than he should have to avoid his first contact with defenders ~3 yds behind the LOS when handed the ball.

Please hire competent NFL scouts/evaluators and a real GM and let Bruce concentrate on such things as the team name controversy and other non player decisions. And please for the love of god, stay the **** out of it after that!!!!

It is getting old listening to reports as to you making decisions on such things as starting QB's, FA signings and draft picks - how's it been working out for you????

The line did look atrocious for much of the day.
And Robert still doesn't look nearly as elusive as his rookie year, so that compounds the problem.
Seems like he holds onto the ball too long too, because he seems to get sacked more than any other QB we have

Which is crazy cause he's got the best wheels out of the 3 this year.

I used to get pissed with outcomes like today, losing to the Vikings?!?!

The OL didn't lose the Vikings game. Nor did RG3.

The defense collapsed. As it has, with the occasional exception to prove the rule, over and over and over again under its current coordinator.

Until it is blown up and rebuilt, the Redskins will continue to underachieve.

They all collapsed. And they all directly contributed to the loss. And they all have had recurring, chronic issues. In fact, the O-line's failures are dreadful and worse, compared to the defense, which is at least mediocre, even according to Haslett's critics. It's a team effort, so how is one unit or player's failure, so much more to blame than others', for a loss, when any single one of them could have won the game, had they not committed costly errors ?

This wasn't a blowout. And aside from the Giants game, all of our losses have been close games, so you could easily justify pointing the finger at any one player or unit, that could have changed the outcome. But why be selective in the accountability ?

The offense didn't 'collapse.' They weren't great, but they did enough to win this game absent an amateurish performance on defense.

The Skins put up 26, on the road, against a very good defense (that held Drew Brees to 20 in New Orleans), with a quarterback coming back from injury, and despite a defense of their own that gave back the second half leads they gave them repeatedly without so much as a whimper.

The 'chronic issue' debate is fine, but it's not why they lost this game. It was the defensive collapse.

The offense didn't 'collapse.'

The line gave up 5 sacks, plus penalties, including a devastating holding penalty in particular, that nullified a first down on a 4th down play, on the last potential game-winning/tying drive.
That sounds like it ranks right up there with "collapse"

If the defense had made one stop, we would have won.

You could pick from a long list of things to say, "if this would have happened, we would have won the game".
But why focus totally and completely on just one of those issues, and ignore all the others ?

Fear, I have to ask, did you watch the game? The O wasn't the problem yesterday. Not saying the couldn't have played better because of course they could have. But they played more than well enough to win.

When your D gives up that many points to a rookie QB, THAT'S your problem.

We either have very different ideas about how a particular game gets decided or we watched different games, brother Fear.

If anything annoys me about this game (I don't get angry with the Skins anymore...until things change consistently...eff ups are more or less expected) it's exactly this. Hazmat was out coached and a rookie QB was the executioner.

But scouts and stuff aren't flashy...don't make for good marketing.

Well, in my usual ongoing interest in providing what I think may be useful information here are some names to keep in mind when it comes time to give out accolades-and throw brickbats-during FA and next year's draft.

Namely, who are these guys we have doing this "scouting stuff?"

The following FO info comes from the oficial Redskins site.

"Scott Campbell is entering his 27th NFL season and his 13th with the Washington Redskins in 2013.

Campbell has had two different stints overseeing either the club’s college or pro scouting departments during his tenure with Washington, and assumed an expanded role directing both departments in the 2008 offseason."

"Alex Santos enters his eighth season with Washington and his sixth as a pro scout in 2013. In addition to the advance scouting of Redskins opponents, Santos is responsible for assisting with the club’s evaluation of personnel in the NFL and Canadian Football League. He originally joined the Redskins in 2006 as a pro personnel assistant."

"Richard Mann II is entering his fourth season with the Washington Redskins as a pro scout.

In addition to the weekly advance scouting of Redskins opponents, he is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and writing of player reports on potential talent in NFL free agency, the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League."

"Tim Gribble is entering his 14th season in the NFL and 12th with the Redskins in 2013."

"Jim Zeches enters his 13th season in the National Football League and ninth as an area scout with the Redskins. He currently oversees scouting operations in the West region.

Prior to joining the Redskins in 2005, he spent the four preceding seasons in the same capacity with the San Francisco 49ers.

Gribble has spent the past nine seasons as an area scout with Washington and now oversees scouting operations in the Midwest."

"Cole Spencer is entering his fourth season with the Redskins after joining the team in May 2010 as a scouting intern in which he assisted with advance scouting and evaluation of NFL personnel before transitioning to scouting of collegiate players.

The 2013 season will be his second season as the team’s Northeast region scout."

"David Whittington enters his fifth season with the Washington Redskins in 2012."

Whittingon is listed as an area scout but no firther information is given on what area is his concentration."

"Darryl Franklin is entering his second season with the Redskins after joining the team in June 2012. In addition to BLESTO Scout duties, he serves as the team’s scout for the Northeast region."

(BLESTO is one of two major scouting organizations-the other being National-that NFL teams use on a subscription basis to provide more bodies out there beating the bushes for potential talent. The annual subscription fee at last report was $100K annually.)
