Sleepy place today ... :paranoid:

Redskins up 14-10 as of this moment. The world is upside down---offense is looking good, defense is getting gashed.

Still ... gotta love being ahead, on the road, in Philly.

ARGH!!! Stupid picks by Campbell and then on the last play of the half, Rock goes out into a pass pattern instead of staying in to block. Makes NO sense. STUPID STUPID STUPID mistakes once again. HAVE to play smarter with NO mistakes in the 2nd half or you can forget about ANY chance to win.

Was just writing about Jason ... threw away the lead and any momentum the team had with two awful decisions and equally bad passes. Redskins are lucky the D held Philly to FG's on both of those, or this game could have been over and the first half of actually pretty decent offensive play utterly wasted.

No way to sugarcoat it ... Jason Campbell is simply not a big-time NFL quarterback. Telegraphed, inaccurate passes, at the worst possible moments. There's more to the position than a big athletic body and great arm.

Then he has to go ahead and make two big-time NFL QB plays before the echoes even die ... thanks, Jason. ;)

Although a big athletic body sure comes in handy, like that escape and throw to Devin Thomas that led to the TD. Nice drive but like I said, NO MISTAKES in the 2nd half or we lose. Nice to have a lead again, though. :)

Tell you what ... London Fletcher may have lost a quarter of a step, but he's still one hell of a football player.

Anybody charting the number of off-tackle runs we call on 1st down? Can't remember the last pass attempt or even wide run on 1st and 10.

We put zero pressure on defenses.

Pretty limp stuff, offense. "Conservative" barely begins to describe our approach. Believe we've thrown exactly two balls beyond 10 yards today, and only one a called play. The fade to Kelly up the right sideline to set up the second TD was sweet---as pretty a ball as Campbell's thrown all year. The other "deep" ball was the scramble toss to Thomas to set up the 3rd TD. But that wasn't a called play.

One "deep" ball per 3 quarters of play does little to make defenses respect you. The Eagles are compressing the field little by little, and we're letting them get away with it. Four point leads don't hold up long in the NFL ... sometimes you actually have to play to win the game.

Hate to say it, but the offense is blowing this game.

Defense has played lights-out, forcing 3 consecutive 3-and-outs. The offense has done nothing, not even establish field position, with three consecutive possessions while holding a 5-point lead. Conservative playcalling, bad OL play, poor QB play (couple of badly inaccurate downfield passes to open receivers), penalties ...

The defense is highly unlikely to hold Philly w/o another touchdown today. The offense had the opportunity to take control of this game ... even a FG in three possessions ... and has done nothing. It's like they can only play from behind.

Bad feeling about where this one is headed ...

Campbell continues to have NO touch on the ball when he's rushed. He missed Moss down the sidelines and ARE over the middle when both were wide open. Good QB's make at least one of those throws if not both.

You're right about the conservative playcalling, Om. Would love to see a playaction shot down the field on first down. Thankfully, Celek has caught a case of the dropsies and Wilson and Tryon are giving us a short field again.

As usual, my timing is impeccable. Defense forces the turnover, hands the offense a potential HUGE TD on a silver platter. Make it happen, O.

Liked the rollout screen to Sellers on 1st ... hate the 2 consecutive runs after to bring up a 3rd down and 5 down deep. Way, WAY too conservative, in my view, for a 3-7 team going nowhere, playing a favored division opponent on the road. ATTACK for once.

FYI-that Packer fan forum has a thread for today named "Go Skins!"

If we beat the Eagles it helps the Packers WC chances-so they're pulling for a Skins win again.

Who are these guys?

About as weak a red zone series as you'll see, gentlemen. The Redskins don't force the issue ... they let defenses dictate. Don't know if there's anything that irritates me more in professional football.

Would have LOVED a playaction on first or second down there. That's GOTTA be Sherman Smith overriding Sherman Lewis and calling a run. That third down call looked like max protection. After the throw to Sellers, the playcalling went into the toilet. YEESH! It's nice to have an eight point lead but that's only one score. Would LOVED to have had a 28-16 lead.

And as for your impeccable timing, KEEP IT COMING! ;)

It's not like I'm not appreciating the fact this badly undermanned team is leading the Eagles by 8 on the road in the 4th quarter, by the way. :)

LIke I said .. the defense won't hold forever. The Eagles aren't afraid to attack, and McNabb isn't afraid to let a receiver make a play.

Landry is killing me.
